Many white people age so prematurely, they look old by age 30. Mixed people just might be the best looking, generally speaking. Maybe that's why hispanics tend to be good looking. I also think many Asian girls are cute, there's just something very attractive about an Asian girl even though I wouldn't put many in the "supermodel" category. Sheesh. Asian men date white chicks all the time. It use to be that they only dated white women for "fun" but nowadays, it seems more are open to the idea of marrying outside their race.
I think it used to be less common because the immigrant mothers of Asians generally think that white people do not make stable life long partners, due to the high divorce rates of white marriages. Many still feel this way and also, in the case of Asian men, men generally prefer women who are smaller than them and look younger than them.
One guy I know divorced his white wife because he got bored, she was very tall, thin and attractive. He married an Asian girl next then divorced her, she was also thin, attractive and had a very good figure. Needless to say, he's not the commitment type. But the point being, he obviously feel in love or whatever with another individual, I doubt he gave much thought about race in any of it. I also know a good share of interracial couples who have made it, still together after decades of marriage. It's not always about race, most of the time, it's simply just two people who love each other.

OK, the reasons why some may think all the white men go after asian women is because, like some said, the media exaggerates these relationships because they're interracial. interracial relationships are different, they stand out from the usual, so naturally more attention is drawn to them. In addition, for those of you that are part of the "majority," why do you think many "minorities" might want to go for the white men, the majority? In the US, the whites are the majority and thus, they set the standards of beauty. If a person is in a country where a certain type of beauty, a certain type of personality, a certain type of body-type is preferred and admired, then naturally, anyone living in that environment will strive for that standard. of course, for the whites, they are born with that kind of look and for others, they may strive for that standard because that is the environment in which they were brought up. they strive for it because it's what is considered to be the best, not because they think a certain race is considered superior. if one was to go to other countries in the world, maybe the "white look" will not be considered pretty or hot at all. it's all about the kind of culture and societal norms instilled in people.

Also, unfortunately in this society, the asian race is constantly being stereotyped as "exotic" because they may look the furthest from the whites. if you haven't noticed already, asian women are constantly given names like "dragon lady" or "china doll" or "geisha girl." these words all have the connotation that asian women are submissive and/or hypersexually charged and dominating in bed. these are of course all a result of media portrayals from the early 1800s. and since white men are in control of this society, as we live in a patriarchical society, they have also consequently portrayed asian men as "passive, timid, weak, unmasculine." yes, many asian men are not as tall as western men, but this is all based on different diets and different cultures. PEOPLE, learn to respect and understand that there are different people with different cultures and different standards, but we are all people. we are all human beings who just want the best possible life.

and in regards to james's and deborah's engagement, this is should great news. it is diffcult enough in this country for two people to find love and happiness. race should not be an issue here. and while we do not know the real reasons for their engagement (let's hope it's for love), it's not of our business to suppose and guess that she or he is in it for any other reasons. there are beautiful and less attractive (but then, this is relative) people of all races, so we should all shut the fuck up about people who do not know personally!

Wow that was long. I have to disagree with you on two points
1. Many Asian women would be perfectly happy to find love, marry, and have Asian babies with good Asian men although we may end up with a good white man (because we often have that option), just fate sometimes. But we do NOT worship White men just for his whiteness, only the foolish, uneducated, ugly, or self-hating girls are like this. A good man is a good man, regardless of his race. Lisa Ling married Paul Song, an exceptional Asian man (after having dated very influential White men I'm sure).
2. We may live in a country where white beauty dominates the media but most Asian women look to other Asian women as "role models" when it comes to physical beauty. Ofcourse, certain notions of beauty are part of regional culture such as style, grooming, physical fitness. etc. It's a balance act, people carry with them the essential pieces of their culture but they also want to adapt to their environment. I think most of us just want to move forward with the best from both worlds.
