I met these two in thier decorating store Downtown St. John's Newfoundland (where Steve is from) and they are super sweet nice guys. I don't think this was a ratings ploy, its always been obvious that they are gay and most people assumed they were a couple anyway. Good for them to come out and share thier story. Come to Newfoundland Perez we love you too!

As someone who work in television in Toronto, this was not a huge surprise. They live in a loft building where tons of television professionals live and it was never this big secret.
They've been on TV a long time and have never really discussed it. I don't think the secret was that they were gay, but that they were a couple. Now that they have their own talk show, it was time to be open about everything, because talk shows are about connecting with the hosts. It was a agreat move, and I'm sure it has been meticulously planned.

EVERYBODY IN CANADA KNEW THEY WERE GAY AND NOBODY CARED. They are good TV presenters and that's all Canadians cared about. Nor was it shocking news that they were together…. DUH. It was pretty obvious to anyone who watched their two previous TV shows. They were great on TV - wishing them the best. PS - the new "Designer Guys" suck big time.
Who really cares, just another example of lame Toronto talent, fake hair, fake tan, Botox etc…just a publicity stunt before their new show launches and as usual will fail. I guess there will always be work available doing shopping mall appearances…good luck.
