Jamie & Lynne Spears still have love for Dr. Phil.
The family is now denying that a person who went on the CBS Early Show this week is their spokesperson.
A Spears source feeds Entertainment Tonight this spin:
A source close to the Spears family tells ET that BRITNEY's parents urged Dr. PHIL McGRAW to visit their daughter while she was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last Saturday.
The family source further contended that it was parents' JAMIE and LYNNE as well as her brother BRYAN's idea to appear on McGraw's show to discuss Britney's downward spiral, and that they backed out of the appearance after details of the hospital visit hit the media. Britney, the source tell us, found Dr. Phil "really cool" and even took his number and said she'd like to call him in the future. LOU TAYLOR, who launched angry rhetoric against Dr. Phil on Wednesday, according to the source is not Lynne Spears' spokesperson.
When ET reached Britney's manager SAM LUTFI to comment on the above info, he confirmed it.
We just LOVE how Osama is Brit's manager now! Officially.

How did Dr. Phil even get involved? Did someone in the Spears family ask, "hey, does anyone know a good psychiatrist?" and another person said, "How about that guy on TV?" Dr. Phil isn't even licensed. Anywhere. He is a doctor (Ph.D), but he got in trouble in Texas where he was practicing and refused to fulfill the requirements to keep his license. He doesn't have one in CA where he does his show, because they decided that what he was doing constituted entertainment rather than psychological counseling.
Get that girl some REAL help.

Roxi - you raise a very good point. If "Dr" Phil could be deemed by virtue of not having a license, of acting in a celebrity rather than a medical capacity, he should face legal action, no different than if a papparazzi walked into the hospital.

First of all- Lynne Spears is friends with Robin McGraw and they privately asked Dr. Phil to intervene. It was not meant to be such a public debacle.
Secondly- deedee, sticking your head in the bible and praying is the way to help someone. That is not the only way, but it is very effective. Someone needs to show some love and get her some help.

What's going on here? What's the real story?? If this is true the Today show has a lot of explaining to do as to how someone who is not the Spears family spokesperson got on their show. Did they just take her word for it? Did they NOT do any research?? I'm not sure what to believe about this anymore.
So what about the woman (Lou Taylor) who talked to Meredith Vieira on the Today Show yesterday summed up the Spear's camp with this statement: “The family basically extended an invitation of trust as a resource to support them, not to make a public statement. Any public statements he made, because he was brought in under this cloak of trust, are just inappropriate.”
