    i'm not a sports fan, but why shouldn't a college student receive pay/incentives for playing sports. Don't they risk getting injured.
    I worked for the university while studying for a degree. I've seen other students get monetary incentive to pursue certain programs.
    Since sports bring in a shit load of money for the colleges, why not give some of it to the players. Just asking, but don't know the whole pic.

    My brother played football for Michigan State and I could never understand why the college players could not be compensated. These guys bring in millions of dollars in revenue for their universities, and yet the universities have conspired to set up the rules whereby the players aren't allowed to get a penny. That's grossly unfair. If a football player gets injured while playing on their college team, and can't into the pros. their life in sports is over and they have to make do anyway they can, while the colleges continue to rake in the cash.
