George Clooney has offered to set up a "mediation panel" to hopefully put an end to the months-long writers strike.

The actor is hoping to enlist other A-list stars, like Tom Hanks, as well as some media power players, like Harvey Weinstein, who has already volunteered to be part of the mediation panel.

Good. Whatever it takes.

Time to resolve this NOW!

      First, I applaud the writers for sticking up for their own. And Kudos to George for trying to get this resolved. Who cares what his political philosophy is, he wants to work like everyone else.
      Second, everyone in Hollywood needs to get over themselves.
      As for the Oscars or Golden Globes, I think that everyone should put their differences aside and support the whole community in Hollywood. I bet all these people support peace talks and everyone in the Middle East to get along. But oh no, not for their own lives!

      It's so surprising to me to see all of these actors and actresses rallying around the writers during this strike - when the whole mess is their fault. The studios have to pay the talent so much money that they can't afford to give the writers the money they deserve. No studio can lower the amount the talent can make on TV shows, movies etc. on their own and to meet with the other studios to agree on salaries would be illegal.

      George is so damn goodlooking, but his ego is a joke. The writers and studios have been trying to hash this out for months and he thinks he is going to step in and magically make it all go away. Personally I say screw the writers. They couldn't have picked a worse time for their strike….they do it right before the holidays. So many people on the shows that have nothing to do with the issues in connection with the strike lost their jobs and were left with no way to provide for their families for the holidays. They could have waited until the spring, the next sweeps period to strike. I think they are a bunch of selfish assholes. All that shit over a few damn pennies. It is a horrible thing for someone to go through the holidays with no money, no way to provide their children for Christman (many people observe Christmas). The way they did it was just cruel and heartless. I hope the writers get nothing. The studios should take this opportunity to recruit some fresh blood.
