I'm so glad that Johnny and Sweeney won! About damn time! I'm so pissed that we couldn't see his reaction and hear his acceptance speech. But I disagree with the person who said he'd have something written-there's no way he would have had a written speech.

With the exception of Johnny Depp winning, this was the worst globes ever. Thank God it wasn't on TV, we would have to sit through endless speeches by ?????
Ellen Page and Angelina Jolie were robbed. Arggggghhhh. Whatever.

Dammnit! These would have been really awesome Golden Globes, if some people in Hollywood weren't so fucked up. WAY TO GO JOHNNY DEPP AND JIM BROADBENT!! And how did Ellen Page NOT win something?

    6. barbara says – reply to this

      106

Lame. You're seriously telling me that Sweeney Todd won over Juno for best comedy or musical? The Globes, Oscars, and all the other award shows are so out of touch! Having Johnny Depp star in a film does not make it good. That pile of a film shouldn't have been nominated for anything!!

Can't believe 'Atonement' beat 'No Country For Old Men' for Best Drama. Liked 'Atonement' but 'No Country' is one of the best movies made in the last 5 years & will be studied in film classes for years. Guess it all depends on taste & the violence may have turned off some voters. Hopefully, that's not true at the Oscars, where 'The Departed' won best picture last year. Very happy that the gore in 'Sweeney Todd' didn't turned off enough voters & won for Best Comedy/Musical. Kinda glad the ceremony was cancelled. Never cared for it on tv.

      126

SO GLAD Juno didn't win. I was freaking sick of that dumbass movie being shoved down my throat 24 seven and people acting as if it's the second coming of Christ. That movie is even more overrated than Jessica Alba. THey should do the Globes like this evey year. Having to sit through 17+ hours of celebrities with their novel length memorized speeches is soooooo annoying.

      YAY For Cate Blanchett!!

      129

OMG!! I am so glad that Johnny and Sweeney Todd won! It's about freaking time, this talented man has been shoved off to the side countless times and when someone like JENIFFER HUDSON gets an Oscar before he does, you know the world has gone mad. Atonement was good but I think No Country for Old Men was FAR superior and should have won instead. The only award Juno should have recieved is the "Most Overrated Movie of the Year" Award. People were acting like this was the hottest thing since sliced bread and when I finally saw it (on the internet no less), I was just sitting there thinking "WTF?" the whollleee time. Exactly like how I felt like when I wasted 10 bucks watching Spiderman after getting rave reviews from my brother and his friends.

How funny is THAT - the Hollywood Foreign Press gave awards to Europeans or people living in Europe (like Depp)! How transparent! No one cares about these self-serving morons. But can I be the ONLY one to notice that most of the awards were given to Europeans?? btw, the score in Atonement is horrible-it telegraphs the upcoming action like a sledgehammer. Just the worst most annoying music I have ever heard in a film. But they couldn't give it to Vedder.

Who cares about a bunch of overpaid writers? Everyone these days gets laid off and they aren't even laid off! They want even more money!!!! Few workers can negotiate like this. Truth is, Jon Stewart and Colbert etc. and all those shows are still just as good and then there are the news and reality shows. Do we really care if there aren't sit-coms jammed with almost 10 minutes of advertising? Puke! This is the way to the Globes, which are interesting to hear for five minutes. Was glad to be spared another actor thanking God for the miracle of a Golden Globe performace when we have homeless people that God apparently has ignored—but no, not the actors and actresses of Hollywood! I hope the writer's strike never ends. It's not like they're fireifghters, nurses, bus drivers, pilots, teachers, people we actually need.

    38. Lynsey says – reply to this

      138

I think it's BULLSHIT how much "Big Love" has been ignored by these fucking awards shows. It's a great show with a superb cast. What is the deal??? Does the subject matter bother the people who come up with the winners or nominees? Shit, "The Sopranos" is about the mafia, and it was recognized throughout it's run. Hopefully the Emmy's don't overlook the excellent performances of the cast (especially Chloe Sevigny) this year.
That being said…yay for Johnny Depp and "Sweeney Todd"!

    39. YAY FOR MAD MEN says – reply to this

No dollface. Johnny has said countless times that he splits his time between Los Angeles and France. His daughter Lily Rose is even enrolled in a school in L.A. The past year he spent more of his time in his Hollywood Hills home than he did his South of France farm. Don't mess with Depp.

      152

thank god a crap-piece like juno didn't win anything… but honestly, i've never seen such a joke of winners. some of the stuff that won isn't even out in theaters yet… and most of it is just awful crap. i guess it's a good thing that the award show wasn't really put on because i've never seen such a shitty list of winners. sweeny todd was one of the most god awful films i've ever had to sit through. there will be blood is a dumbass 70's inspired western (and they weren't good back then either). no country for old men is a joke. atonement was the most boring non-love story of all time.

now i just wish they'd get some of the good tv shows back on. i miss greys, ugly betty, desperate housewives, private pratice, pushing daisies, gossip girl, and reaper. boo.

    53. auds says – reply to this

      153

i've gotta add lastly that those who are SO concerned with greed and hypocracy should look at the people who are boycotting… talk about GREEDY, demanding more money and putting people out of work for an extended period of time. this boycott is funded by the greedy hypocritical writers themselves.

    54. muffin ass says – reply to this

    60. bummer they didnt show it says – reply to this

      160

I have no idea what the writers want etc and no doubt they have every right to it (as without a script there is NO movie, or tv show etc) but I think it is a bit pathetic they would block the awards show - especially the upcoming oscars which have continued through wars, president's assasinations etc - ddont the writers SCOOP up awards at these shows too????? Surely they could put the strike down for the AWARDS ceremonies - yes we all know they have writers (to write those always totally LAME blurbs before the read out of winners names) but really - it is pathetic not to give proper recognition to all players in movies and television because of a wages issue. Get real!

    61. scooby says – reply to this

      161

Yah for Mad Men and Jon Hamm-if you haven't seen it rent season 1. Hopefully this strike will be over soon so they will be ready for season 2.

I'm glad Queen Latifah won for Life Support. She deserves a lot of credit for her talent. She's a great exemplification of a powerful Black woman in acting. As far as the show not being aired, oh well, it happens. People should however be compensated fairly for the writing they do. Pay em' what they deserve and let's get the media back.

Juno is the most overrated movie of all time. I LOVE michael cera and he was the only good thing in it. Yeah, I know how much we all love seeing 16 year olds getting knocked up and not getting abortions (which honestly, most would), but this movie is crap. Entirely too prestigious and snobby. I don't know any 16 year olds who talk like her and even know who Iggy Pop is. So so so overrated. So.

      Superbad was way better.

Why don´t you find out how "the real communist" is? That poor humble boy…!!!
