Ellen DeGeneres is the favorite TV personality in America, according to a new poll by Harris released on Monday.

Last year Ellen was #8 on the poll! This year she knocked off Oprah Winfrey for the top spot.

Momma O held the #1 position for the past five years in a row.

Gayle is livid!

It's all those Iggy sympathy votes.

Oprah is actually quite rude, and in some ways racist. Is it just me or does she give obvious preference to African Americans…….example: if she does makeovers, she will show you a random selction of befores, and then when the afters are revealed, she shows the whites first, then the blacks last. And when she asks the audience questions, most of the woman she talks to are african american. I also think she is rude, as she asks people/guests questions and then answers for them, or cuts the off…….she needs to study journalism a little more.

I hate to tell the Ellen "fans" on this site that Oprah still is #1 in the tv ratings every week for talk shows and that is all that counts in tv land with the executives who are running the tv networks. Polls like who do you like more means nothing to the folks running the tv networks. Do you think the tv execs care about who won a poplularity poll if the ratings for that tv host is near the bottom? The bottom line is ratings and Oprah and Dr. Phil week end and week out have double to 2.5 times the viewers that Ellen has. Ellen recently had her highest ranking week a few weeks ago with a 2.4 rating, yet Oprah for that same week was 4.9 which was a drop for her. In the published ratings for last week Ellen fell back for the week with a rating of only 2.0. Ellen's yearly average for three quarters of 2007 was around 1.8. I had to snap you guys back into reality.
