He pulled a Gayheart!

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Roger Avary, Pulp Fiction, was arrested for drunk driving in Ventura County this past weekend.

Making matters worse, Avary was so drunk that he crashed his car severely.

One of the passengers, Andreas Zini, died.

Avary's wife, Gretchen Avary, was ejected from the car and found in the roadway by police.

She was transported to Ojai Valley Community Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

Avary was booked into Ventura County Jail. He was charged with manslaughter and DUI. He was later released on $50,000 bail.

Jesus!

Get a fucking driver, people!!! Call a cab! Call a friend! Walk!!!!!!!

      OMG NO! I love Roger Avary.. he directed Rules of Attraction. He is a genius. Except for when it comes to life or death matters, obviously.

      His career is OVER, and so is his life pretty much. I can't believe it.. he will be in jail for years. This sucks. So sad for his wife and obviously even more so for the family of the woman who died. Jesus christ.

This is about driving drunk, there are PLENTY of appropriate comparaisons you could have made — Nicole Ritchie driving the wrong way down the highway leaps to mind, let alone all of the other celebs who have been caught DUI.

      A stupid irreplaceable mistake. I had an accident about 25 years ago where a little girl ran out in front of my car and was hit. Fortunately she survived the incident. The deeply moving part of this story was, I had been travelling towards a place to meet relatives, and this little girl lived about 70 miles away from where I was going, but as it turned out, she was actually related to me, and I found out latewr she and I were distant cousins. Freaky to say the least. My point is I was wary from that point on. Maybe this guy had a close call once before this, and didn't heed the warning. The law of attraction.

      I am a driver for a limo company in Los Angeles. I drive celebs around all the time, and people to parties. I know that hiring a car initially seems very expensive, and something you think you could do without…but stories like this just illustrate that the expense of hiring a car for the night is far less than the emotional, and fiscal payments you would have to make when you destroy your car, your life, and take the life of someone else. So looking at this story, is $50 and hour really too much to spend to guarantee a safe, sober driver to take you home? It's sad to see that people are so idiotic that they'd drive drunk when there are SOO many options out there.
