"They totally ignored me," says a jilted Lennox. "It was bizarre. It was a kick in the teeth. They didn't return my phone calls or emails for three weeks. I'm trying to find out what's behind it. Probably a good thing I'm no longer with them - mild understatement."

I was a fan, but she lost her voice. Her last CD was so bad, lyrics and voice, and her public performances underscored that she lost her voice. She was phoning it in and did not bother to train her voice. I still play the previous CD's.

I' not a fan of her, If fact, I bought her latest album and I really don't know why. It's the only album of hers I ever bought, and I had never listen to it. It surprised me. It has beautiful songs.
I find "DARK ROAD" specially beautiful, and I recommend it.

WTF? I saw her in concert with Sting a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl and she was fantastic! I mean, sounding better than she did in the 80's. So she is older, so what? annie lennox has contributed a lot to the music industry and to worldwide causes for human rights…… what a weasel way of telling her… ignoring her for three weeks and then dropping the bye bye…..
I'm not surprised. This isn't a knock on her as a talent, but it costs a lot of money to record and promote an album. She simply does not move enough copies to keep it profitable for her label. In the past, this wouldn't matter: 9 out 10 albums lose money, but that 1 album that makes a profit makes enough to cover the losses incurred by the label on it'sother 9 releases.
Because record sales are way down from where they used to be, this isn't a viable model anymore. So the label drops all the artists it doesn't believe will make a profit. Sucks, but it's good business sense.
However, this means the artists can go to a smaller label, with a smaller budget that is more suited to the revenue they can expect to generate, or choose a non-traditional recording and distribution setup for their output.
Annie Lennox is one of the most talented artists there is. I have all her music and will always be a huge fan! Her voice is powerful and beautiful at the same time.
That sucks ass! She's a fantastic singer. She doesn't deserve the threatment she gets from the record label.
