Annie Lennox has been dropped by her record label.

"They totally ignored me," says a jilted Lennox. "It was bizarre. It was a kick in the teeth. They didn't return my phone calls or emails for three weeks. I'm trying to find out what's behind it. Probably a good thing I'm no longer with them - mild understatement."

Bummer.

According to her website, she wasn't dropped from her label. In fact, the label wants her to resign with them again.

Annie Lennox is an incredible performer and I have been a fan since the '80s. She hasn't lost her voice and she did not "phone" her vocal parts in on her new album. Whoever said that is full of shit.

The story is completely untrue. see her website today. Her contract expired. Sony says they want her if she wants to stay. The British press has got this all wrong, as do you Perez. And, BTW, she is one of the finest singers and performers there is.

More evidence that the more political a star/musician/celebrity gets, the less economic viable the star gets. Leftist politics = box office poison.

Seriously, she is shocked that she was dropped by Sony? Have you seen her latest album sales? Sony most likely lost money on the promotion and the advances for production.

Unbelievable that a True Artist is tossed, so that radio-friendly hip/hop two-hit wonders are signed. It's not all about age! It's about respecting a true artist who has a giant fan base. Damn - I should be a top A&R guy! This wouldn't be happening.

I adore Annie Lennox. Her Medusa & Diva albums are classics. She is beyond brilliant! This is ridiculous. Eurythimics is one of my fav bands ever. Her voice always gives me the chills live or on record- which is a rarity these days. I remember seeing her perform w/ the Eurythmics reunion on
the American Music Awards years ago(can't find it on Youtube)- her vocal phrasing & improvisation were genius & brought tears to my eyes. You can't keep great talent down! She is a phoenix , she will rise again!

To those of you who say she has lost her voice, and that her last album was crap….you obviously wouldn't know talent if it kicked you in the groin. Her current album is teriffic. I saw her in Chicago a couple of months ago, and the show was OUTSTANDING! Her voice is a gift. This is another example of why the record industry is in the shape it's in. They would rather promote slickly packaged no-talents….what a shame.

Annie Lennox has more talent in her left earlobe than Britney Spears, Alli Sims, Lindsay Lohan, Adnan Ghalib, Gay-Fed and the whole rest of that passel of ass-clowns combined. And right now, as we speak, 250 pappa-ratsy are running willy-nilly all over Los Angeles trying to be there when Zitney goes into a changeroom or gas station washroom to have hot greasy farting monkey sex (ain't love grand?) with some dude with a shaved-pussy beard that she's known for exactly 3 minutes, hoping they'll get that photo of her bug-infested clam when she staggers out butt-nekkid in yet another pathetically contrived installment.
But talent can't get a record deal.

    49. Geoff says – reply to this

      149

Who is she? She's one of those rare people in the music industry who actually has talent. And her voice is as rich and vibrant as ever, as evidenced here first-hand at her recent New York concert, which was beyond thrilling to see… and thrilling to see someone who actually still knows how to write a song! I'm surprised SHE hadn't dropped her label, what with their consistently-lousy press campaigns! Her latest CD is quite remarkable in scope, musicality and melody and to not get a proper press push- well, I think she should consider herself lucky to be "dropped"!

This couldn't possibly have been true. I mean, Annie Lennox's last album was released around Thanksgiving and debuted in the Top 10. In fact, there's a single on the album that's charting as we speak! "Sing" is charting on both the adult contemporary chart and the dance chart. I highly doubt the label would drop someone whose album they're still promoting.

She isn't that old, early 50's and looks great. She has a gorgeous voice, she will do just fine, she has plenty of money and I am sure she will quickly find another label to record with.

If there was decent arts education in our schools, people would have a clue and people like Britney or Paula Abdul or Bon Jovi or Jessica Simpson or those stupid boy bands would be laughed out of the business like they should be and people who can actually sing, play instruments or actually write their own music would be appreciated like they should be.
It's disgusting and I'm not sure what's worse, the stupid people that call someone who lip sinc's to a electronically altered voice while doing a cheerleading routine an "artist?!" Or the shameless uneducated parents that let their kids hear that shit? It's pathetic.

Annie Lennox was talking about the SOUTH AFRICAN branch of the record company, when she was in South Africa. She was doing grat things for them and it hurt her feelings (and her project). Her record company'label adores her and even though her contract is over, they have asked her back excitedly. She is thinking about what to do at this time, she is not entirely sure she wants to be bound to any particular recod label at this time.
