I would just like to say that the following comments are either from those that are too young or too old to know him. For those who don't know his HOLLYWOOD roles Brad made his break in "The Client" and has had a number of roles throughout the years. He has a difficult life storyand he had to grow up way too fast. You could always find him at a blues or jazz bar in Nashville. He was wise beyond his years and was robbed of his innocence at a young age. I'll miss him, everyday.

I also enjoyed the last film he did 10th and wolf.
He was talented, far more talented then a majority of young actors.
You never know what goes on in a persons life behind the big screen.
Its sad because he appeared in the NERD video provider and it somewhat forwshadowed his fate. Prayers to him and his family, may he now be in peace.

    46. Bobby G says – reply to this

      646

Yeah. This news bummed me out too. Just like when River Phoenix died. It's more sad when it happens so young in life. They just go away in a blurr and never come back. Not even a come back. They surrender their rights to be remembered. They stopped talking about River Phoenix long before today. There was an amazingly talented kid (Bobby Driscoll) who starred in Disney's very first live-action film, "Treasure Island" (1950), which is THE model for all Pirates of the Carribean films and rides. Driscoll died alone from drugs in the early sixties and was buried in an unmarked mass grave called Potter's Field in New York. The original Treasure Island film is still a popular classic. But, few people realize what became of that young kid who's career crumbled when he developed severe acne in his teens. Disney dropped him. He sank into drugs and depression. People see that classic movie without knowing the young star later died of a drug overdose in an abandoned warehouse on skid row. So, I guess I'll dedicate this small tribute to Bobby Driscoll and Brad Renfro. R.I.P.

I am still so upset that he died. He was so good in "Bully". I read that his family has a history of drug abuse and jail stints. His grandmother is the one who raised him & she died last year– at least from what I read.

He seemed to be trying to get clean but I remember last year when he got in trouble for not completing his drug rehab program that he was a condition of the probation that got for his heroin bust. It's all very sad.

Brad was such a talented soul. He reminded me so much of River Phoenix, and sadly, his life ended extremely young, also. I've been a fan of Brad's since I was about 14 and saw him in The Client. It's just so sad. Rest in peace, Brad. You'll be missed. :(
I just thought that I'd tell you people that are asking who he was that you're being a little disrespectful. Obviously, he was a celeb, or his death wouldn't be on this website. Imdb him or something. He was very well known by people that watch "good" movies. (Not just movies that are in the cinemas.) Ever heard of Larry Clark? Genious. Most of you have seen some of Brad's more mainstream stuff, whether you realize it or not. Here's a list of his credits:

10th and Wolf (2006), Hollywood Flies (2005), The Jacket (2005), Confessions of An American Girl (2004), The Mummy an' the Armadillo (2004), The Job (2003), RiversideChasing Holden (2002), Deuces Wild (2002), Happy Campers (2002), Tart (2002) An Confessions of an American Girl (2002) Bully (2001), Ghost World (2001), Skipped Parts (2001), The Theory of the Leisure Class (1999) Apt Pupil (1998), Telling Lies in America (1997), Sleepers (1996), Tom and Huck (1995), The Cure (1995), and The Client (1994).

Brad Renfro did really well as a young actor in THE CLIENT and my favorite film, THE CURE. He was also in the movie SLEEPERS. Aside from that, he starred in Tom and Huck among others. He was a good actor with good talents. He just lacked adequate parental love and attention that's why he had some history of bad behaviors.
