Why does it seem so many Americans have problems with women in authority/in high profile positions? I"m certainly not saying that all Americans are like that, but so many are. She's a top-level news anchor. Did you REALLY think she created every single line of script herself? Did you REALLY think she decides on every single camera shot herself?
This 'behind the scenes' piece rather than being negative, shows Katie to be a calm, polite (ALWAYS says please) pro, preparing for her live hits.
I don't get it–this footage is supposed to encourage us to hate her? Not everyone can be number one, and not being number one doesn't mean you don't put out a great product.
That it has been sneaked away to Perez Hilton speaks much more loudly about some of the people she is working with, who obviously have their own agenda.

I worked as a news producing intern for an ABC station and this is normal behind the scenes stuff. Katie is DOING HER JOB. News is rather boring but also, very on-the-fly and things don't always go smoothly…plus news changes constantly… so familiarity with the material is actually a luxury. So, she is asking pertinent producing questions.

It would be interesting to see similar footage from other late night anchors i.e. Brian Williams and Charles Gibson. I am sure they are EXACTLY the same…and of course, just like in show business, it is all about the facade. I'm sure Katie is just as lovely a person as Brian or Charles (or Diane Sawyer) but we're seeing unpolished footage. Kind of like going on a date but if your date saw you unshowered and in your underwear before they saw you in your date outfit.

I sat next to a guy at dinner the other day who had volunteered at QualCom Stadium during the CA wildfires. He said that Katie Couric was there doing a segment for the news. He couldn't say enough bad things about her–prima donna, yelled at people (fire victims who were living there at the time, mind you) who walked behind her while filming, demanding. Not charming or cute or perky–just a big ol bitch.

This is an exact representation of what goes on between takes of ANY TV show. The pace is hectic, producers are feeding information to you left and right, and you try to keep your energy up between takes. I think she seemed really friendly and had a great rapport with her producers and crew. I think I'll start watching her newcast more now. Thanks Perez!

Curious, what was wrong with this inside on behind the scenes? I thought Katie was quite calm given the extreme pressure she is under.
