Sources tell us that Nicole Richie is very upset with People magazine.

The new mom sold her baby pics to the mag and was promised the cover this week, we're told, but she got bumped for Matthew McConaughey.

And they don't even have an interview with him! Just a one-page story.

Why is Nicole famous anyway? Was she an actress? No. Was she a singer? No. Was she on a reality show because she has a rich friend? Yes. There are so many other celebrities I would rather see on the cover of People magazine than her.

FYI: The creators of The Simple Life wanted the show to be with Paris and her sister Nicky, but her sister didn't want to be on the show so Paris had her bff do it instead. If it wasn't for Nicky not wanting to do the show then no one would know who Nicole Richie is.
