Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee wants to change the constitution.
Why?
Because "God" is not happy with it.
For real!
"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do — to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."
Huckabee also wants to amend the Constitution to prevent children born in the U.S. to illegal aliens from automatically becoming American citizens - a radical step no other major presidential candidate has embraced.

Ok, I kind of agree with him on the kids born to illegal aliens because I've seen cases of families torn apart because their kids are legal citizens and the parents get deported. It actually happened to a friend of mine - twice. But her dad managed to come back. The constitution already allows that children born to non-citizens are not guaranteed automatic citizenship…it is just not enforced by the state. That is a common misconception.

I agree that changing the constitution is not a good thing, Perez but I have to say I am 100% behind adopting a law that says children born to illegal immigrants are not automatically legal citizens. Parents of those children typically do not contribute into any of the programs that benefit citizens (medicaid, public school, food stamps etc ), so why should they, through their children, gain from those benefits?
