Love it!!! Seems like it has been so long since the last Star Trek movie. Never got into Star Wars but love all of the Trek series. Thank goodness there is a n episode on almost every day. Too bad we have to wait til Christmas 2008 to see the new movie!!

Oh.. and I second the post that said Star Trek: The Next Generation (with Patrick Stewart) should make one more movie. TNG's 25th anniversary is just 5 years away. TOS last movie came out on their 25th… same respect should be given to TNG.

Not so much a new design, as it is a "more detailed" design. I like it a lot! Best to leave the 60's beauty alone, and just add more detailing to her for the big screen. It fits in well with the TOS movie version from the first 6 films (which was a beautiful "upgraded" version). Oh…. and I REALLY hope SHATNER is in the movie. You can't have a good Trek movie without him!!!

Re: Blackzodac – I can't wait for this movie! Shatner won't be in this film unless it's in flash forwards but they (those that do the hiring) and Shatner haven't been able to reach a deal. He was very dissapointed at the '07 Convention in Vegas. But we all need to remember that Captin Kirk 'died' (is trapted in the Nexus) in the 7th movie, Star Trek Generations.

looks alright so far.. I'm pretty excited about the film and all but I know nothing can compare to the Originals. Lets just say I have HIGH standards!

and dude..people who are complaining about Shatner not being in the film need to get it over it. If you knew anything about Captain Kirk, you should know that he dies in the film "Generations". Leonard Nimoy however, CAN have a role in it because Spock is still alive.And anyways,why on earth should they put Shatner in it just for the sake of having him in it? btw I have nothing against him I just don't see how they'd be able to make it fit.

And if the movie was to fuck around with the Temporal Prime Directive just to bring Kirk back it be toooooo much of a stretch.
