Denise holds court in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Her predecessor, Ken Reeves, was also gay and black.

Cambridge is the home of both Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Wow, great news! I live in Cambridge and I just learned this. I'm so thrilled Denise is our new mayor; she's a totally awesome individual who always gets my #1 vote for City Council every year because of her sincerity and strong progressive activism. She's the real deal and really cares what happens to people in this town.
