This is actually our favorite version!

The wonderful James Morrison has just done an equally wonderful cover of Valerie, the song most recently done by Amy Winehouse on Mark Ronson's latest album.

The tune was originally done by the Zutons, and it was rock 'n' roll. Ronson and Wino put their typical sound on it.

And now James has offered up a soulful and "hippy" take on the new classic.

The original is not rock'n'roll, and this is NOT a cover of the overplayed Mark Ronson cover. It's another cover of the original. That is clear from the vocal stylings, which he copies from the Zutons, not Amy.

Thanks Perez for giving some promo to a truly talented artist. The UK has been turning them out lately. Now if James can break through like Amy Winehouse has, that would be really AWESOME. You need to promote The Zutons too. They are an amazing band. Some record company needs to release their album in the U.S.

sorry love to disagree even though it is nothing more then a opinion. The winehouse/ronson version blows this one outtta the water. its so much more livelier and the vocals just pop better. This cover is C+ at best. Even though i love ms winehouse and may be bias but is hard to top her vocals nowadays compared to the other artists that are around. Not so much that she has the best voice out there she just seems to do it better

Love this boy James. Met him in Nashville before he toured with John Mayer. I got tickets to his concert w\ Jesse Baylin for $8. At the meet and greet he told me, "You smell amaaazing…" Ah! Swoon!
