I love the song and the lyrics but when she hits those high notes, she sounds terrible. It sounds like she swallowed something big and its stuck in her throat. She probably has moves but the singing is not all that great. One time, she sang next to Mary J. Blige for some VH1 divas show and she sounded awful. She muffled out Mary with that hideous throat wailing.
Other than the "pollo" stuck in her throat, I'm loving the hair, the makeup and the dress.

Mainly because we are from Latino America, and the word "hispano" is derived from "Hispania," which (if you look it up) was the first name given to the country of Spain back in Roman times. Therefore, hispanic, to most carries a more european connotation. And Shakira, being from Colombia would be a Latina.

Okay, I had to watch it again, because I wasn't feeling it the first time…which was diasappointing because I love everything Shakira and feel in love with this song the first time I heard it a few months back.

I remember seeing her on a video channel in Mazatlan about two months before she broke big in the U.S.. Her video, Ojos Asi is Incredible! I never even knew she was doing songs in English either, but was not the least bit surprised that she has made it this big! Her live singing voice is just as good too and doesn't need to be remixed to the point of sounding non-human, unlike no talents like Shitstain Spears! It's too bad she wasn't given the opening that was wasted on Shtstain! I bet you'll never see her in rehab or strapped to a gurney either! I am not a ravenous fan, but I have always enjoyed her music and I'm sure I always will! This new video is equally wonderful and is the best thing that has been on this site all week ( although there was something about the Tom C. remix that was funny!). Good for her!
