I'm always open for VALID resources to expand my teaching programs. But I have still found that personal opinions are the greatest reflection of our society today and the Internet has given me the largest pool of data with which to teach my classes. Oddly enough, it's my older (50+) students that seem to be the most receptive to the changes in society even though they were raised in a more repressive era. I just hope that human behavior can and will change for the better and more diverse with the expansion of the knowledge and data that has become available on line. Unfortunately, there will always be a character like this "OPRAH" creature who can only stir up hatred and ignorance no matter how progressive the evolutionary chain advances.

Racism is in every race, not just white people. Also, there were white people that marched in the civil rights movement with the black people. There were white slaves (indentured servants). Sure, maybe they got to be freed but that's how they payed their way to this country.
Another fact: White people didn't go to Africa and capture the black people that were slaves. The other tribes in Africa captured and sold them to the white people.
The bravest man of all, really, is Rev. Martin Luther King. He has risked his life not once, but countless times. We are the primary architects of our future destiny, and as such, can also be the physicians that are capable of initiating the healing process that our world so desperately is in need of. To myself as a citizen of the same world, I look forward to the time when the medication of brotherly understanding and respect begins to make its effect felt, and the world is on the road to good health! MLK was a good man. Sadly, neither Oprah, nor the majority of black people today have a single clue what he was really about. They pick and choose the parts of his ideology that suit their individual agendas and those parts are always the ones that give them license to pity themselves and blame white America for their every failure. The color of your skin has nothing to do with what you choose to do with your life. Most every black person I personally know is uneducated, unemployed, and unhappy BY CHOICE. (I'm talking actual people whom I know, not just some fabricated statistic) In my area, there is a MAJOR drug/crime problem due to the fact that so many blacks AND whites have made poor choices, deciding to try to make a living stealing and dealing instead of getting their lazy asses in school (or work) and EARNING the success they continuously accuse others of "stealing" from them. The only difference between the white thugs and the black thugs is that the whites know they are responsible for their own failures, while the blacks continue to say that the "white man" has "kept them down".
