Not so long ago in history music used to be called "the divine art". Now it's called "the music industry", and probably that new name is appropriate for what we've got. Ms. Blige is taking a step in the right direction when she speaks of going back to "actual instruments", but it's still a long, long walk back to the divine art. Whatever big change comes in the world, music creates it long before it physically appears. That's a very sobering thought when you consider the music we have been using for the last 75 years.
I could not agree with MJB more. Music has been bad for so long and I DO see it beginning to get good again. (You teeny boppers would not understand…you will when you grow up.)
