    What bothers me more is this….Marilyn is an icon. Madonna is an icon. Both of these women have stood the test of time. But Shakira? Come now…doesn't anyone remember her hair when she first debuted in the US? The bleach-blonde with black roots, skank look is not the image I think Sunsilk would want to promote….or maybe they do.

    I think this is a great commercial, some people are over expecting,
    if you go to addage.com youll read that this is actually a cutting edge commercial done by a brand design firm instead on an add agency. I love the classic image they use of Madonna, & the exuberance she shows. I believe this is the beginning of her Live Nation contract, because they have the right to license her image & music. Madonna has never done that befor in America. For some reason in America its considered "selling out" to do business. Like most Americans you believe what your told to believe, instead of thinking for yourself. Madonna has never sold out the way the stars do now. Her only commercial was the one time Pepsi in America, now shes ready to be commercial in America & she has a HUGE UNTOUCHED CATALOG OF OPTIMUM WORK.

    I like Marilyn, Shakira, AND Madonna, but that commercial is dumb and desperate. What on earth does "make life happen" and "life can't wait" have to do with freakin' hair?

    And last but not least, how sad is it that in a campaign saying "MAKE LIFE HAPPEN" one of the spokespeople is freakin' DEAD? And not only that, but from a possible suicide. Oh yeah, gimme some Sunsilk so I can be just like her. I wanna make life happen, but only til I'm 36 at which time I'll die of a drug overdose and leave people to reminisce at my funeral about how great my hair used to look.

    Guess cutting edge translates to a crap commercial?
    I don't care if a design firm created it rather than an ad agency; if the point is to sell a product, based on that commercial I won't be buying. Appears to me that Sunsilk just overpaid a design firm for an ad that tells consumers nothing about the product and provides minimal entertainment. Both are elements needed for the American market. Then again, they might have cut the budget on their market researchers to pay for this 'wonderful' and 'artistic' ad.
    Too bad I don't work there; I would love to see a couple heads roll!

MADONNA is known for her countless hairstyles (blonde, brunette, redhead, feathered, w/ bangs, boycut, bob, etc.). But the point of the campiagn is women living their lives to the fullest.
