We think it's a killer song, but….
Janet Jackson's new single, Feedback, has failed to connect with the public.
The song failed to crack the top 30s on the singles' charts.
And, according to Soundscan, Feedback, dropped from #44 last week to #66 this week.
Sad.
On a brighter note, Rihanna continues to go from strength to strength.
RiRi's bangin' new single, Don't Stop The Music, jumps from #15 to #6 on this week's Soundscan charts.
You go, girl!

You want to know why that happened? It was that STUPID video they put out. Whatta heap of junk. She should fire whoever was in charge of that video and make another version of it or forget the song ever existed.
Hopefully she will never work with that same 'creative' team as their work was beyond sophomoric. It was downright amateur.

The single's only been out to radio for 2 weeks- and it's gaining in AI each day so Janet's doing fine. AKeys' No One didn't hit #1 until her album came out, and that took 3 months… Sales could be better but the difference between the spot where she was and where she is now on digital download is less than 5000.

Maybe if she hadn't insisted on showing us her metal-encrusted teat in one of the most ill-conceived episodes of attention-whoredom ever, we wouldn't find her so repellant. But she did. So we do. Oh, and, there's just one other thing - the song is unlistenable. That's what these idiots don't seem to get - T'n'A and trumped up contoversy and all the rest of it are fine, but eventually you have to put out some form of product, and if the product is unpalatable, people won't buy it. Tough 'tit', as it were, in this case.

I just saw the video last night. STINKY! The song is awful. It is so over-produced. Was she even in the studio? Or did she just show up on day and rattle off "A, E, I, O, U and sometime Y"…. and they put the rest of the song together. Does she even sing anymore? All I hear is breathy nothingness. Where is her voice?
nothing against Janet, she's great, but this song is mediocre at best. she is capable of so much better.
I think Janet should just retire. She is through in the music business.It's hard to keep up with the little teeny bopper manufactured pop tarts that now dominate the music scene. I'm not a hater, believe me. I can remember when she was a little girl on Good Times. I think she deserves to just relax for once in her life away from the spotlight.She's been a hard worker for so many years and the business of music is fickle. I wish her all the good luck in the world, I really do.

Yeah… you could also mention that the Spice Girls Greatest Hits album barely cracked the Top 100 in it's opening week. Such relentless promotion and hype and it turns out… nobody cared. As far as Janet goes… she needed to get out there and promote herself a little bit more. She didn't make enough of a big deal out of it… so neither did anyone else. "Feedback" deserves better.
