An earlier report from CBS News in New York that illegal drugs and narcotics residue on a $20 bill were found in the home of deceased actor Heath Ledger has turned out to be untrue.
The Associated Press now reports:
"A rolled-up $20 bill was found near Heath Ledger's body, though no illegal drugs were found in his apartment, police said Wednesday.
The bill would be taken to a lab for testing, though no visible drug residue was found on it, police said."

When I first heard Heath had died, I thought "What the hell could he have died from?" Anything drug-related was the farthest thing from my mind. Thus, the fact remains that he kept his addiction (if any) hidden very well. He wasn't one of those guys in Hollywood that you looked at and thought "Oh man, that guy is living life in the fast lane." And he shouldn't be remembered in that sense, unlike many other stars who are famous for their addictions. He was a talented, down to earth guy, with problems just like everyone else. Remember him that way.

It sickens me how all these fake sources arise all of a sudden and try to disparage Heath's reputation. He was anything but a junkie and no one will ever be able to taint his name, because the people who were lucky enough to know him will always confirm that he was a kind-hearted and life-loving individual. I guess he really didn't belong in Hollywood because the last thing he wanted was to be seen as a heartthrob who exploited his good looks to achieve fame. He wasn't after publicity and will always be remembered as a spiritual and wonderful individual. I don't think any of us realize yet the impact of his death on our culture…he was an extremely unique artist, who never tried to conform to standards set by the "Hollywood society". It is so heartbreaking to me that various media are taking advantage of Heath's tragic passing to feed their audiences with rumors in order to manipulate their ratings. We live in a terrible, TERRIBLE world and they should be ashamed of making up untrue stories, which will reach Heath's loved ones and devastate them even more…if that is even possible. My heart aches for Heath's whole family, his daughter and her mom, Michelle Williams. Stay strong
