As rumor and speculation continues to circle around the death of Heath Ledger, this interview the actor gave not too long ago has extra significance.

On playing a junkie in the movie Candy, Ledger stated, "I've never been addicted to anything other than tobacco, so I think it's hard for us outside of their world to comprehend how they're making their decisions, you know?"

Sigh.

    Well there you go.. what i t would take for a man his size to commit suicide or overdose on sleeping pills he would have vomitted or passed out first.. something happened I am going to say an allergic reaction but that is just me.. we'll see but I think we should all wait and see all this speculation is doing no on eany good especially his daughter

    I think the speculation that he was an addict has gotten way out of hand. Anything he did years ago has nothing to do with his death. It was most likely an
    accident.

    Unfortunately, that's probably not the case. Sleeping pills can be incredibly addictive. Two friends of mine were addicted to them and couldn't sleep without them. As time went on it would take more and more pills to get them to sleep at all. From the interviews I have read it seems like he may have had this problem too. Some people have more "addictive personalities" than others, and sadly this might have been the case with him.

    I really don't think it was an overdose, not by illegal drugs. Maybe was just sleeping pills, I don't know why but I don't think he was a drug addicted.

    just because he died of an overdose doesn't mean he was addicted to whatever killed him. you can die the first time you use any drug. why taint his memory with accusations of addiction?

    Perez - what exactly are you insinuating. The guy had anxiety and had not had any proper sleep for ages. He wasnt addicted to the pills he was perscribed. They werent working and he needed some sleep! His death was an accident. If the people who found him werent so freakin clueless he might still be here. Why they wasted time calling anyone but 911 is beyond me.

    I think he combined prescription drugs not realizing the effect. Desperately tired and jet lagged I am sure he had no clue of the danger to come.
