Ummm… perez, are you even looking at CNN or FOX or any news??? it definitely says that 50 % of the voting was black and the other % was white (SC has 0.9% asian, etc.). anyways, 61% of women voted… the only "category" that clinton beat obama in is age. (people 65 and older voted for hellary; cnn.com/politics). …obviously the primary was more than race. people are not just looking at race and it should not be about race. people will try anything to "put down" obama's victory.

No he didn't only win on the strength of the black vote. He also carried a quarter of the white vote — not a small portion — and almost 60% of all votes under the age of 65. Establishment Hillary won the over 65 vote — big surprise. Obama appeals to a huge diversity of voters in all economic brackets and from all ethnicities, and particularly among young voters — all of whom showed up in numbers and carried him to his win in South Carolina. May it continue on Super Tuesday!!

A key indication is that he leads in young voters 18-29 which is indicative of the progressive future that America is driving toward. I don't recall you ever saying that a candidate for the republican race won a primary based on the "white male vote," thereby insinuating that “but for” the race factor, a candidate may not be successful. Sen. Obama's win, like that of any other candidate, is based on his platform, presentation, and qualifications. To even suggest that he has garnered a win because of race undermines him as a candidate, and African-Americans as voters. Lets get this straight. Obama got 25% of the white vote, Edwards got 28% of the white vote and Billary got 36% of the white vote. That is not a large majority of the whites voting for Billary.

That is incorrect. Obama had a diverse group of votes 288,402 with 98% of the precincts reported. Obama received 50% of the white vote of 18 - 29 years old.
