Britney Spears took home "Best International Album" at the NRJ Music Awards in France on Saturday.

She beat out Mika, Amy Winehouse, James Blunt and Rihanna.

WTF?????????

I lived in France briefly in the late 1990s and this makes total sense to me. Their pop music scene is atrocious. I couldn't believe a country as sophisticated as France in so many ways had such lousy taste in pop music. So for them to go for this makes perfect sense.

the problem is that we can't seperate britneys drama from the fact that Blackout was pretty much the perfect pop CD. i tend to gravitate more towards alternative music, but there is some pop music that i really like. Blackout stands up, its not one of those CDs that you listen to once or twice and put away. After months of listening to it it still sounds fresh and sexy. its a shame her personal life is so horrible. If she was well and could have done promotions and performances it would have been a multi-platinum seller.
