Back in the day, he was one of the best musicians of all time. Way back in the day!

Now, MJ has re-recorded Thriller, the best selling album of all time, for its 25th anniversary with some "contemporary" artists.

Some of the songs are hit or miss, but Akon's take on Wannabe Startin' Something is KILLER.

Get it right yourself, its the beAtles not the beetles. As for holding records, yes MJ has sold more albums. Don't get me wrong I LOVE MJ! But he does not hold the record for best selling artist of all time, he holds the record for the best selling ALBUMS of all time, that would be thriller(1) and bad(2) and, according to the Guinness book of records is the most successful entertainer of all time.
However, did you know the beatles hold, among others, the record for most number ones on the billboard hot 100 in history, Elvis is second and MJ is 4th. And that with sales of 1BILLION records worldwide the beatles hold the record for the best selling band in the world, again according to Guinness.

As for elvis, even though I CAN'T STAND HIM, he has no less than 149 songs to appear on Billboard’s Hot 100 Pop Chart in America. Of these, 114 were in the top forty, 40 were in the top ten, and 18 went to number one. He has also had over 90 charted albums with ten of them reaching number one.

The records I have just shown you are just SOME of the records held by these three legends so they really are equal! In the end its just a matter of taste. I personally LOVE MJ and The Beatles and can't stand Elvis, but I can,t deny his influence and his popularity! So please Ryan don't just dismiss other artists in such a fashion just cause you love MJ!

By the way the song is great! Even if I like the original better!

Although MJ's shaddy past has left me disappointed having grown up with his music. Thriller was one of the 1st albums I ever got, I mean vinyl album. Just listening to this sample has allowed me to go back in time, a time when my only concern was Saturday morning cartoons. MJ was in the studio when they recorded it. And yes it does sound different its because its 2008 now the 1980's so they remixed it a bit.

People these days don't understand the enormity of MJ in the 80s, because they have no point of reference, much like how people can't fathom Oasis. I'd say 7 in 10 people probably don't like or have an opinion on the biggest artist now, Justin Timberlake [an MJ knockoff himself.] But in the 1980s, there was NOBODY that didn't like Michael Jackson.
