First - as a golden retriever owner - this designer breeding makes me sick!!! Second - don't make
biting a game or you will be SORRY!!! Teething or not!!!

      Perez!!!
First of all, no biting MEANS no biting! REmove your hand, and tap him on the nose if you need to. I gently grab my dog around her mouth, like at the base of her snout, and make eye contact and say no biting!
2nd, get some serious teething toys! the Wubba and any puppy Kong toy is the shit. Slap some PB on that and enjoy the silence!
3, soft stuff, like toys or a frozen washcloth, when they are really going at it, (teething, swelling!) the cool reduces the swelling and pain.

But for real, you gotta nip that biting shit in the bud, cuz you are gonna have problems later if you don't.

I hope you actually read this shit.

I feel we have met in some capacity. Or I watch too much fucking vH1………………

      Toodles, and good luck!

You are a bad dog owner. You should never teach your dog to bite (holding out your arm to him and giving a pathetic 'No' is just teaching it to do just that– you are giving it positive attention for doing something bad), and you should correct it when it does. This may be cute now, but it's not the dogs fault when 'cute' becomes 'painful and annoying.' I volunteer at a shelter and it's attitudes like yours that get dogs put in the shelter.

Plungers. The rubber reminds them of human flesh. Plus when you suction it to the ground, it's funny watching a puppy try and get it up again and then get all pissed off.

Good luck with the teething! We have a bichon/mini-poodle mix and we are STILL trying to get him to stop nipping us (even though he does it only occasionally).

      211

Too cute! But he needs to know that teeth are NOT OK! He bites, close his mouth with your hand and say "NO BITING!" or whatever phrase you use for innapropriateness…same phrase EVERY TIME, and cease play. What he wants is attention, it's his reward. Hard as it is to ignore a living Teddy bear, it's the most effective method! Cookies for kisses, NO ATTENTION WHATSOEVER for teeth! Good luck Perezito, love my furry kid too!

I know that you love your dog dearly, but you must not allow him to bite you. Saying 'ow' in an excited voice will encourage his behavior; he will think it is ok to bite you and to bite other people. As his owner it is your responsibility to be firm with him and show him that sweet behavior is the only acceptable kind.

Sorry Perez, but my Doodle is cuter. :P He's going to turn 5 months on Feb 5, and he puts your Teddy to shame in the cuteness department. Not to mention that he's smarter……

best thing for a teething puppy, get a bunch of tupperware and put it in the freezer, then lay it around your place and he'll chew on that and feel great on his gums. hes a cutie for sure.

aw he's too cute. i have a year old english bull dog… it helps to say kisses early on so when he is biting he'll switch to licking. it sounds dumb, but it works. also if you cut the rings off of soda bottles and take the cap off. dogs teething LOVE THEM!

    30. Eternal Skeptic says – reply to this

      230

Some miniature. If he's that big at five months, you're going to have a full-size dog on your hands, not some purse-dog. And by the way, you're teaching him that human flesh is a perfectly okay plaything, which is NOT so cute when they're adults with fully grown teeth. Have you gotten him neutered yet?

I love that doggie cutest. W@onder if that is a Wheaton Terrrier??????

    32. Paddington Bear says – reply to this

      232

      Perez,
That is really bad…. do not teach your dog to bite your fingers… you need to encourage him to teeth on other objects. If he thinks that is playing, when is is REALLY grown up he will also think biting people is acceptable behavior. I love Teddy (& you) and want you to be happy together. Please read Cesar Milan's book and watch the Dog Whisperer so you can both live happily ever after.

OMG! He is THE CUTEST THING EVER! Reminds me of Schwartzie when he was hard core on gnawing on everyting. No toes were safe around him.

Now I miss way back when my baby dog was a little puppy, but even so, he's still totally awesome, just bigger.

      Dogs rule, cats are lame.

      So there.

you should get some toys to bite on, or he really hurts you one day. Has he found your toes yet?

Im sure saying aow over and over again will help that dog. You should learn something about dogs before you get one.

Love you Perez but I worry if that dog is ever going to be arond children. It cute to play rough for you since its nothing to to push him off… totally not cool when he locks on to your friends babys face and dosent let go since you taught him that "ouch" and "off" mean nothing. Get your dog under control before animal control have to do that for you. all dogs big or small that bite get put down, and it not their faluts, in this case the responisbility would be on you.

i'm not hating, but NOW is the time to train your puppy, or you'll have a big pain on your hands to go with those bite marks.

I KNOW YOU'LL BE A GREAT MOMMY! Now, go teach that girl some manners. No mother wants to go though PARIS: THE EARLY YEARS.

I have a Boxer, joey, that just turned six months old…I was talking to my vet yesterday and she said the reason puppies are so cute, is so that we don't kill them :) His new game is let's bite mommy's ankles!! OUCH!

You are cute Teddy…be kind to daddy!

I used to have a puppy that looked almost exactly like him called Teddy. He was so cute. We had to get him put down at 14 weeks old though, a paralysis tick killed him.
