      Why can't kill whales for food but killing cows and pigs is OK?
      All animals will go extinct naturally including humans. Animal extinction caused by humans is natural too.

It is *not* a deeply cultural issue as you imply. Today, very few Japanese would choose to eat whale. Instead, it's served in places where people don't have a choice - prisons and schools. And as for the people who make their living by hunting whales? They could easily convert their boats to catch other things. They'd do fine.

      Would she shut up already. It would be like an Indian actor or actress coming here and intefering on American Farms. Indians do not eat meat AT ALL and they could come here and try to shove their beliefs down our throats. The only difference they don't have the massive ego of most Americans like Hayden.

      I am Norwegian, and in Norway Whale meat is veery popular.
      I am totally against it, and I actually agree with Hayden a lot.
      But there are other things that can be done as well, than just going against whale hunting. It's just another creature, and I know it's horrible.
      I doubt she'll succesfully make Norway, Japan and Island totally STOP killing those wales. But at least, No, Jap and Is. could at least try and kill a little less whales than all the whales they kill now. I know it sounds horrible, the killing part. But I just think there's no way that they'll fully stop. Unless the government or whatever has a vote for whalehunting, and the citizens of Norway, Japand and Island really want's to make them stop. the Whale Hunters could get a penalty, a really high one, and not let the hunters get the money for the whales. But I think it is well done, lots of credit to Hayden :)

      I think it's great that Hayden uses her status to draw attention to something like this. Even the little causes need a voice!

      I'm from Norway, and I think that anyone who says that Hayden is "imposing" on other cultures can go away and die somewhere. Just because something is a part of a culture doesn't make it right, and in most cases you actually NEED someone from the outside to point that out. Besides, when an international star speaks up about something, a hell of a lot more people are going to stop and listen, because we're very influenced by the american pop-culture over here. A national celebrity would hardly even be heard.

Someone needs to be a voice for the voiceless… No matter what, all humans at least can speak their pain or displeasure (whether someone is listening or not) but animals can't. Whales have 4 lobes to their brain but the problem is, they have no hands so they can't do anything with this AMAZING intelligence. They're being BUTCHERED!!! Whales travel in FAMILIES and these whales brutally come up on them and harpoon into their bodies and the harpoons EXPLODE!! It's the most torturous and merciless death and takes a long time before they bleed to death. It's easier for them to do to these animals when they can't cry and scream. However they do make a whale scream and the father ALWAYS retaliates at the boat. I went to see Captain Paul Watson speak about what he's witness and tried to intervene. (Sea Shepherd). With the dolphins, they lure 2000 of them into a cove. (this is several families of HIGHLY intelligent dolphins) and they go around stabbing them to death. They all get to watch each other die and swim in their own blood. The Japanese whalers are MERCILESS!! This issue needs a voice! Thank you Perez!

      What is Intelligence BTW? INTELLIGENCE is an illusion. It's something humans made up. Just because we feel like whale are like humans in many ways doesn't make them smarter than other creatures. What an ego humans have! In fact, humans aren't all that smart after all! We're the ONLY species that are contaminating and destroying the planet we live on. And for us to say that whales are intelligent like us is like insult to the whales!

      Now, as for killing animals, it's OK to kill animals for food. It's OK if a species goes extinct because another species haunt them for food (Well, only humans are capable of that though)

      I'll say this. Saving endengered species doesn't do anything for environment. It is super egoistic to think that humans can save the earth. The earth will save itself.
      Humans are not trying to save the earth. Humans are only trying to save US. Save the earth and be hypocrite. If we want to REALLY save the earth, we shouldn't live on the earth. The best humans can do is when we depart our existence, try to leave as little indecompostable stuff behind us as possible.

      Hayden paid a visit to the Norwegian embassy in DC, and the ambasador is quoted saying Hayden " Was extremely self absorbed and a bit of a Diva" and that "she had no interrest in hearing the scientific evidence behind the Norwegian Goverments decision to continue whaling". "She just kept saying : Have you ever been swimming with whales?". I applaud our little hero for all her efforts, but if she is going to make her case in beaurocratic circles, she should get her facts straight.
