Marie Osmond is getting her own talk show.
No. More. Fainting!
And no Mormon propaganda!
The Dancing With the Stars alum announced the news at the NATPE TV conference on Tuesday.
The cleverly-titled Marie (gag!) will debut in the fall of 2009.
Osmond last hosted a chat show in the late '90s with her touped brother. The Donny and Marie show lasted two seasons. That's one more than we expect Marie to last!

most ppl dont know is that mormonism is the single FASTEST GROWING *RELIGION* in the world. every time a male becomes 18 who is mormon, they must travel the world on missions for 2 yrs to convert all the poor uneducated people to joint their cult. this leads to the billions that are populating now under this so-called 'faith.'

I met Marie Osmond and she was kind and gracious, even though she was trying to have lunch with her mom and people kept interupting her. It's nice that someone actually has some morals and is close with their family, Hollywood seems like a HOT MESS to me these days. Also, just because someone isn't 20 years old and a size two, doesn't mean what they have to say isn't important.
Perez- Why do you think its OK to bash someone because of their religion? Hate on Marie all you want if you think she is annoying- but adding a bash on a persons religion? Come on thats really wrong….would you say that kind of comment about someone who is Catholic or Jewish or Muslim? Hopefully not. I hate the idea of this show, but then again, I dislike Judge Judy and all of the other courts shows, Oprah, Dr. Phil, The View, Rachael Ray and the rest of the day time talk shows. IMO, nothing but absolute junk, given how obscene their incomes are, no way they can relaate to the normal Jane or Joe.
Just so you know, I'm mormon, and I don't support people playing the mormon card. It drives me insane. I wish other people of my faith were more tolerating and accepting of others. I think one's faith should be personal and not broadcasted. So I agree with Perez saying no mormon proganda.

Yes, it's time The Osmonds reclaimed our wasteful, hedonistic lives. There's just too much on TV that caters to the lower chakra (sp?) and not enough ministering to the heart. I mean, Oprah has peaked, but is by far the best there is…By 2009, Oprah may be ready to step aside and let Marie & family rekindle the hear fires and bring a smile to our weary face. Marie needs to have a project…so, she's selling her brand to producers (Osmonds) and they're testing her out on ET almost every night. I think if Rachel Ray has lasted as long as she has….Marie stands a good chance.

I think it will be great to have marie back on TV. It will not have to be all that good to beat what is on the TV today. I think the world would be much better off if we let the Osmonds have two or three hours per night on TV.

I live in Utah, I know a lot of Mormons, they're just like anyone else. And they are some of the kindest people that I know. It's a religion… They don't drink or smoke and might have a few more guidelines than most people, but they are people. They aren't weird, and for the most of them, their religion does not define them as a person…
It's just sad to me that it's THAT big of a deal. Nothing with any other church is… maybe they have something good to say after all.

The beauty of the Mormon religion is that it has its teachings but also teaches tolerance in general. Mormons aren't going to hate you for believing a certain way- and they should not be hated for practicing what they believe.
