Blame the greedy lenders who allowed unqualified buyers to buy more home than they could possibly afford. I know an unmarried person who works as a receptionist who managed to finagle her ass into $735K home with no money down that she planned to "flip". Unfortunately, the home was grossly over-valued and now she is upside down and the property in foreclosure. The house across the street from me went back to the bank but it was one of six homes the owner bought last year as an "investment property" all six are now in foreclosure. Those are but two examples. Greedy, poorly regulated lenders and stupid, greedy speculators combined are truly a force to be reckoned with, I'm blaming them.
