New Line pictures is planning a remake of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.

Michael Bay's production company will oversee the re-imagining.

At this point it's uncertain if Robert Englund, who portrayed Freddy Krueger in nine films and the TV show, will be back to portray the legendary serial killer.

Ughhh. Bay is already fucking up Friday the 13th for a remake of that.

He better not mess with Elm Street!

Re: Mydoona – I believe in the third film, we find out exactly why Freddy grew up to be a psycho. His mother, a nun, was locked in a room over an entire weekend with a bunch of insane men and they raped her over and over again. She became pregnant with Freddy and we all know what he turned out to be. I agree that a prequel would be pretty cool and much more original than a remake. Enough with remakes, people need to be more creative.

I'm not looking forward to this, either. Transformers… had good graphics, but the dialogue and the plot were ridiculous. I have no faith in Bay's ability to make a horror flick, sorry. Plus, all the Nightmare movies were carefully thought-out for the events to make sense, except New Nightmare. What kind of remake can possibly be made? One thing for sure, computer graphics are the last thing the series needs.

If anybody followed movies remotely closely, they would know that this isn't new news. In fact, this shit has been talked about for at least six months. And no it isn't going to be a strict remake. They have talked about doing a back story to Freddy and why he is how he is. Plus for everyone bitching about a remake, would you rather have some shitty ass Nightmare on Elm Street sequel. There have been some awful ones. Perhaps a REBOOT (not remake) could be just what the franchise needs. It seems like every time something is being "re-made" people get all whiny and bitchy. Batman Begins seemed to do fine, as did Superman Returns. Again, they're not remakes, they are reboots, like what they are planning with Nightmare and Friday 13th. People seem to forget that some very good movies are remakes/reboots. Hell, the Maltese Falcon was a remake, as was The Departed.

Criss Angel Responds To Recording Of Altercation! Says Producer Provoked Him!

There are two sides to every story! Here's his!

In light of the audio recording released yesterday that featured Criss Angel threatening to knock out one of his producers, the illusionist's attorney, Ken Woloson, has released the following statement:

"Criss Angel was in the process of firing Joe Safuto on Wednesday when Safuto became abusive and Criss asked him to leave. Criss decided to fire Safuto in response to repeated complaints from co-workers and other magicians about Safuto's abusive and violent behavior and general ineptitude. Witnesses have attested that there was no physical contact and that Safuto very clearly was the antagonist. The audio released to the media is a snippet of a much longer conversation. We are exploring legal action against Mr. Safuto, including for his defamatory and illegal conduct."

Ouch! Sounds like he means business!
