Appearently, Hayden went to see the Norwegian embassy in Washington, and though I support the cause and all, I agree that she needs to present her cause in a somewhat more proper and perhaps scientific way than THIS: (translated excerpt from a norwegian newpaper) "The young actress appeared to be very selfabsorbed and a primadonna. "Do you love animals", and, "have you ever been swimming with wales", she repeated without showing any particular interest in the scientificly founded arguments against whaling. My sources inform me that Hayden paid a visit to the Norwegian embassy in Washington DC yesterday and handed over a letter that was to be forwarded to the Norwegian prime minister. She spent about 30 minutes talking to an embassy advisor, a Mr Petter Meyer. Mr Meyer was not too impressed with Ms Save the whales, because her arguments were unfounded and ignorant. In fact Mr Meyer went on to say that she was a primadonna and totally ignorant when it came to scientific facts that are totally founded. She needs to get her facts straight and so do a lot of people. Norway is NOT a country that would hunt down and kill whales if they were endagered. People need to get their facts straight. People like Hayden mislead the public and she is doing this for her public gain and nothing else. Why doesn't she use her public persona to stop all the killing of innocent children and people due to war. If I thought the whale was endagered for one second, I would be the first to get on the barricades. She is a stupid and ignorant little girl who needs to do her homework.
She needs to learn the Japanese culture and why they started hunting for whales before she actually starts fucking around. IDIOT. And no, we're not going to stop buying Japanese products over whales and dolphins. While I understand the arguments made regarding her need to understand the Japanese culture, their economy etc. and also to be more scientifically informed, what I find refreshing is that here we have a young woman, who, instead of getting cought up in the drugs, sex and scandal of Holleyweird, she is attempting to put her name ot a cause. Whether or not we or others agree with that cause is an individual choice. She can't be there for every cause, neither can we. We (collective or 'Royal" we) sit here criticising women like Britney, and in the same breath do the same thing to this young woman. I think for the most part, she is a good role model for young girls in society. Looking beyond/outside of ourselves to the fact that the world doesn't revolve around ourselves, but that it does continue when we leave the room.
