Tyra Banks continues to build on her brand and make more and more money!!!
Well on her way to being her generation's Oprah, the talk show and Top Model host has just inked a deal with the CW to produce a new reality show for them.
No, it's not a show on wigmaking, though Tyra should look into that.
The show is being described as The Devil Wears Prada meets The Assistant.
The series has received an eight-episode commitment and begins production in April for a launch in late spring or summer.
It's being eyed as a potential companion piece for Top Model.
"It is a competition show about aspiring assistants looking to become assistant editors at a fashion magazine," co-executive producer Ken Mok. "At the same time they're trying to prove themselves as aspiring fashionistas, that they have a sense of style and savvyness, all the things to make it in the fashion world."
No word yet on what magazine will be hosting contestants.

Her show (Tyra Banks Show) is very weird IMO. Tyra should've just stuck to modeling. And do away with the lace-front wigs. Is it just me or does she always tell women "be strong, don't let anyone make you complex," then in the next breath, she's telling magazines how she wouldn't ever want a man to see her w/o her wig…? This has me lost. IDK about this new show, sounds like it will consist of a bunch of drama llamas.

Wasn't there already a reality show like that called "The fashionista diaries" or something like that.
It sounds horrid. Last season's ANTM sucked big ol' hairy ones. Tyra has no magazine experience; the one thing she is able to bring to ANTM is her penchant for torture and ability to hype drama to fever-pitch. I just don't think the show will fly. And she does NOT need to be the sole "picker" for contestants in future cycles!

Oprah embraces her intelligence, her class and her status, and you can see it in how she carries herself on her show. Her topics are smart, her guests are interesting and have new a thoughtful views to share with people. Tyra fits in the same category with Montel.
