This is reason to celebrate!

Ryan Gosling looks like a new man. The actor, who had been sporting serious scruff for what seemed like the last twelve months, emerged clean-shaven on Tuesday.

Up until this past weekend at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, he was bearded out.

He looks so much better now, don't you think????

Oh, yeah, Ryan was honored with the Independent Award Tribute at the 2008 Santa Barbara Film Festival yesterday.

I WAS THERE! i interviewed him on the red carpet and he was the sweetest thing! i'm a college student and i think he could tell i was nervous during my interview… so he held my hand to calm me down and then took my arm and put it up to his chest i couldn't believe how nice he was. and the way he looked at me with his expressive eyes. omg, i was freaking out inside lol.

it's funny… the first thing i said when he got on the red carpet was "he shaved his beard?!" haha i think he looks good either way

The beard was most likely for 'The Lovely Bones,' which he ended up getting fired from. He also gained weight for it. That's too bad cuz he's a great actor. He deserved his award for 'Lars & The Real Girl.'
