Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have changed their min - aka caved under pressure.
The celeb news shows have now decided NOT to broadcast the shocking drug video of Heath Ledger they purchased for several hundred thousand dollars.
"Out of respect for HEATH LEDGER's family, "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Insider" have decided not to run the Heath Ledger video which has been circulating in the world media," they said in a statement.
They forgot to mention that they already aired a long teaser of the drug vid on their Wednesday night show and millions of people saw bits of the footage as a result.

this are the first good news I have ever read on this blog.
according to a New Zealand newspaper they paid $200,000 for it. It was shot at an after party without Heath's knowledge. I think airing a vid like this can only hurt his loved ones. There's no reason for anyone to say anything about his alledged drug use at this point. It's all moot. He's dead. Let's all mourn him and honor him by going to see "The Dark Knight" when it comes out.

All that was on it was him sitting at a table which was covered in drugs and admitting to smoking pot, WOW, who hasnt had a joint before, probably realised that they made a mountain out of a molehill and it wasnt worth showing as it didnt even show him using drugs, just let it be and let his family grieve without accusations being thrown around when he cant defend himself

And all he said was that he USED to smoke alot of pot…If that is the cruxt of this video the show should release a statement indicating that b/c right now the implication is left out there they he did something more salacious - if he did it is noone's business but if he didn't it is really inappropriate to leave that stigma. I mean being in a room with it doesn't mean someone was a drug addict - heck even if he said he used to party hard it still doesn't make him a former drug addict - so I am really confused as to what was so extraordinary about this video unless I missed something. Did he actually partake in any drug use in the video or was he just there? Big difference wrspct his reputation.

It's disgusting how the media are trampling all over his memory with salacious stories of his alleged drug problems. It would be one thing if he were still alive, but he can't even defend himself. Thank you! I was very upset when I found out they were going to show the video. The world remembers Heath as a respected actor. There is no reason for us to ruin our memory of Heath with a video that just does not matter now. Heath has lead his life very respectively. I believe Heath's death should be treated differently from others. He is an acclaimed actor who stayed out of the tabloids. With the cancellation of this video I believe the media is turning around, having a little bit of heart, and I hope this isn't just a fluke, it would be wonderful if the media showed more respect in these situations.

I'm glad they did, from what I saw, it was stupid. Poor man isn't even buried and they are making his life a profit. A friend of mine, her cousin, was friends with Heath. She's a publicist in NY/LA.. and she said the same thing everyone else is saying. She was around him enough to know he freaked out over drugs if they were around him. She was not his publicist. Just a friend of his.
