Guess newsstand sales are more important to Latina than putting up inspiring mujeres on their covers.

Such a shame.

Update: Apparently the awful decision of putting Don't Call Me Latina on the cover can be blamed on Latina's new editor-in-chief.

is what she said really all that bad? im mexican, spanish, and puerto rican, but only about 1/16th each, and no one in my family speaks spanish (we have been in american for 5 generations). i would love to be able to say i have a strong connection to my heritage, but i cant. im proud of who i am, but really, who i am has nothing to do with the countries my great-great-grandparents came from. im proud of my skin color and my last name, and it isnt my fault that no one taught my grandparents how to speak spanish so future generations could. ive never had to associate with one group or another to feel like i fit in, and im happy with that.

I don't know why she bothers doing any press for her movies. They suck and never do well despite the media blitzes. She needs to hire someone who does a better job of reading her scripts before she signs on to god-awful movies that are not going to earn her any credibility as an actress anyway.
