Spears had a big outburst, hurling swearwords at her parents and staff.

Britney admitted to to the doctors that she was on ADD medication Adderall, aka cocaine in a pill, and was taking up to ten laxatives a day.

My son has adhd and bipolar disorder. He was taking adderall and other adhd meds but the psychiatrist recently took him off of the adhd meds because research has shown that adderall and other adhd meds exaccerbate bipolar disorder. The adderall is probably why we have seen an increase in Britney's symptoms. Also if the adderall has been keeping her awake, then she probably doesn't have adhd. Adderall and other stimulants act quite differently in people with true adhd. Adderall never kept my son awake at night. Britney was probably taking the Adderall as a meth substitute. Also, previous pictures showed Britney driving around town with the Proventil med that people take to stay off of cocaine. I bet that, combined with the Adderall is doing a number on her mind.

It's very easy to sit in our homes on our computers and pass judgement on someone we don't know. It's very easy to diagnose someone we've never met based on internet reports. Its very easy to make fun of the sick and vulnerable. We should all be ashamed. It does not make me lose weight (dammit), and I am calmer and think clearer. I have been on the same dose for several years, and it has made a huge difference in my ability to cope both personally and professionally. Sometimes I forget a dose and the worse that happens is I feel a little tired. It supplies the homones that many of us need more of. That's all. If you truly have ADD/ADHD it calms you down, it does not make you go wild and crazy like meth or cocaine. I suppose it might if you abuse it, but if taken properly it is a god send to those who truly need it. I never tell anyone that I take it, because I don't wish to have comments made about me like many have made in here about the drug.

does anyone realize that when on adderall you can have SEVERE mood swings and anxiety which can cause MAJOR rage, crying spells and insomnia? it also makes you want to smoke alot….which she's obviously been doing. i would know, i was on it for 5 years for ADD and I got off of it because towards the end, i started having panic attacks and severe outburts of rage and crying spells. i also couldn't sleep at night and i NEVER ate. i lost 30 lbs. it's really the onely reason i kept taking it. i've suspected this from the get go because she has been losing weight, hasn't been sleeping and hase been completely irrational. it also causes constipation. i'm sure she was using it just to lose weight but she probably has no idea what the side effects were. Also, i was told i was bipolar because all of the side effects from adderall make you appear that way. once i got off of it, i was completely back to normal and haven't had a problem since. that shit needs to get off the market. it's bad news and can cause serious damage to the adrenal glands and to your brain. she's probably taking waaaayyy more than she should. get her to detox and then see how she acts. i bet she's back to the normal britney in no time.

i'd try changing his diet and cutting out gluten, dairy, and processed foods and see how he acts. also, it may work now but there can be some serious long term side effects. trust me, i've been diagnosed for 23 years and i wish someone would've changed my diet instead of drugged me up. do you want him to be medicated the rest of his life? will he know how to be a self-sufficient adult without meds or will he be insecure and dependent on them for the rest of his life? just look into all of your options and make sure it's not some sort of food allergy that is causing his behavior problems. i wish my mother knew then what i know now. i promise you it's an environmental thing.

I'm 27 and have been taking adderall since I was 19 and it is NOT cocaine in a pill. It's a stimulant. It helps people with ADD and ADHD to calm down and focus. Most of us take Adderall because we can either not focus or have trouble focusing on what's at hand or what's important. But if you are not diagnosed with either of these, it can make you hyper. Who knows - it can probably do worse. It's basically speed - NOT COCAINE. Huge difference, dumbass. Yes it lowers your appetite and that, along with the laxatives, is probably why she is taking it - to lose weight. That is the wrong reason to take it. But calling it cocaine in a bottle is ridiculously nonsense. Perez, you just said almost half the kids in the country are drug users. Way to go dumbass!

For people who have ADHD, adderall is a god-send. yes. but it is nevertheless a stimulant, & ppl who take it who don't actually have ADHD (& trust me, just because you've been diagnosed w/ ADHD by a psychiatrist is by no means definitive proof that you're ADHD) will still respond to the drug– but in a very different way. Since Brit began her downward spiral, I've been thinking Adderall the whole time. I've battled addiction to this drug (which I was prescribed) for several years. A lot of girls start using it for the extra energy & weight loss, & sense of euphoria that it can give at first. But once the effects start diminishing & you have to overdose yourself on it to get the same results, some pretty awful stuff can happen: extreme anxiety, paranoia, rage, hallucinations, panic attacks, insomnia, extreme mood swings/ depression… the list goes on. I've experienced all these things w/ Adderall.
Adderall is a very good med for ppl who truly have ADHD. However, it is also 1 of the most overprescribed meds in this country & it's something that very few ppl in the medical community are talking about. I can name 12 people off the top of my head whom I know personally that are prescribed this drug. And there is *some* truth to Perez's "cocaine in a pill" comment– adderall is often used recreationally as a party drug. I've seen it snorted before parties. And some of my friends say they prefer adderall to cocaine– honest to God.
I just hope this brings a bit more awareness to a very dangerous & growing problem in this country, especially among young ppl.
