UCLA is an excellent place for Britney to get treatment. They've been doing research for decades on affective disorders (bipolar, depression), what causes them and how to treat them. It looks like the meds she was getting weren't adequate for her mania. Inpatient, they can monitor her better, work on what meds will work for her, etc. So it appears her doctors decided treatment at UCLA would be the most effective thing.
I haven't a clue regarding Lutfi, her parents, or what gives. I just think she is at the right place for good medical care. (Cedars is kind of a "boutique" treatment place, not really adequate for her medical needs.)
Whatever the backstory–It is good that Britney is getting medical treatment. It sounds that she agreed to go, too. That is very good.
