A source close to Britney Spears has an interesting take on the events of Wednesday night.

"her mom [Lynne] was too busy to come to her aid cause she was getting a manicure.
when her mom got to the house she was screaming, 'sam's trying to get you commited, get in my car lets go to malibu.'
does that sound like a mother that truly cares?
even adnan was there yesterday and he even thought if anyone should be commited it should have been her mom.

You know what, if Lynne comes to Britney's rescue every time things go downhill, Brit will never learn her lesson! Lynne is probably sick of all of this bullsh*t and wants Brintey to grow up and deal with her problems like an adult. I don't blame Lynne for not rushing to Brit's side everytime there is a problem.
It is not uncommon for family members to do whatever they have to in order to get a mentally ill patient to the hospital.
I know someone who had a family member who was mentally ill and his father pretended he was in medical crisis and had the mentally ill patient take him to the emerg dept on the premise the father needed medical intervention. The emerg dept realized when another family member informed them enroute what was going down and the mentally ill patient was certified and got the treatment he desperately needed.
The mentally ill person was thankful after it was all over and was greatful they were so clever in his paranoid state.
It's entirely possible this is true. Britney wasn't born crazy so mom probably had a lot to do with it. She certainly seems to enjoy pushing her kids in front of the cameras and doesn't seem to mind her 13 year old daughters fucking anyone they want. Britney started sleeping around on the Mickey Mouse club and Jamie Lynne was fucking her BF's in mom's house at 14. Clearly Lynne is not a good mother letting them run wild like that.
my first thought to that is this (and whatever i think of first is always right) reverse psychology! I have Bipolar Disorder type II. People can't stop their own lives because all the dramas in your own. If you do, you will never improve. Of course the other around you need to be 100% supportive and learn as much about your illness as possible. They also should be a sounding board.

I do not believe this story at all. The reports on the TV said that her mother and Adnan were there when she was hauled off in the straight jacket. They said she had not slept for days which is a sign of mental problems. It was all set up to be done by her psychiatrist and her family was there when it happened.
