One Was Bad Enough!

With the success of Cloverfield's opening weekend, bringing in over $46 million, Paramount is planning to create a sequel to the film that made many people upset.

With all the complaints moviegoers had and refunds they requested (because the movie made them so sick), will the sequel make as much money?

Don't think we'd pay for another couple of hours of nausea!

Will U go watch it?

      17

Absolutely NOT! I will NOT and will tell everyone I know NOT to watch the sequel. My friends asked me to go with them (Cloverfield), and I got so dizzy and sick that I had to leave after first 20 mins. My friends later told me that the story line and acting was just plain dumb (we live in New York City).
Anyway, this is like Blair Witch Project with all the hype, but not so impressive. Let's NOT help the studio, the producer, the director rich by going to the sequel.

      19

I actually liked the movie alot…. If you go in there expecting a regular movie…It might piss you off that the camera is moving all around., BUT….I was told before I went to see it that it was filmed like a home movie. I thought it was great. It made you feel like you were right there with all the action. It was very raw, very different….I loved it!

    20. Shannon says – reply to this

      20

It had potential but no i will not go see a sequel. I hated the ending and it gave me a headache. So many people walked out cause it was making them sick.

Dumbest movie I've ever seen. It didn't make me sick but what a bunch of hype for a stupid movie.

A sequel? Of what, another hand held cam version of events? The first one was pathetic enough.

      first yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

    39. victor says – reply to this

      39

Yes I would and Mr. david vg it would in fact be shot in the same style as the second is supposedly other's experiences.
For example on the bridge scene you can visibly see another person taping the events

    40. CP says – reply to this

      40

yea i totally would. i got what they were trying to do and it was great, considering how they had to approach it. besides, i don't know why everyone is complaining of motion sickness. I get car sick in two minutes if I'm not driving and this movie didn't do anything to me.

    41. Damien says – reply to this

      41

Ugh, Perez you're a fucking stupid bitch!!!! People are so fucking stupid, this movie was amazing! People just wanted to sit there and be told when to jump and scream, like little sheep. They should have watched One Missed Call instead, that movie had everything that brianless people would ever need.

    42. Courtney says – reply to this

      42

hell yeah!…the first one didnt make me sick at all…my two friends werent so lucky…

    43. Amii says – reply to this

      43

such a ridiculous film. awful truly awful. why were people upset and sick?? absolute SHITE. it's a totla waste of time and money to make a sequel… money that could be spent on waaaaaaay more important things.

    44. er burg says – reply to this

      44

      No!

    45. Chuck says – reply to this

      45

YES, i definitely will. There's so much more to the story than you get if you're just casually watching the movie. JJ Abrams has set up myspace profiles for all of the main characters and websites for the company that Rob was moving to Japan to work for. Also, there are some tie-ins to LOST and Alias. Google Cloverfield and it gets a lot more interesting. Also, pay attention to the last seen when something falls from the sky into the ocean in the far right corner of the screen. Wow, I sound like a nerd but this ish is so good, yo.

    46. Lucy says – reply to this

      46

Absolutely not. The script/treck through the city to find that idiot girl was more nauseating than the camera crap. Gross.

      49

oh god no! This movie gave me a headache and then i felt like throwing up during the whole thing. I felt like i was on a bad acid trip…

    50. Martini says – reply to this

      50

Of course I'd see it. Why are people complaining about the first one? They said if you're motion sick don't see it. That's their own fault if they saw it knowing that. And people complaining about not having an ending, I loved it. It's different from most movies. Why does everyone need closure to enjoy something? Its about finding a video tape, not an actual movie.

    51. ShitHead says – reply to this

      51

      no.
It was just a bad movie.
      Simple as that.

    52. Paquita says – reply to this

      52

LOL! I thought I was the only one that felt sick during the movie!! I blamed the pizza I shoved before going to the movies. I did throw up, had to left the theater 2 times and then came back to finish the movie.

    53. Natalie says – reply to this

      53

Absolutely not! Forget making me sick … the whole thing was just crap and left everyone completely confused.

    54. tv eye says – reply to this

      54

no fucking way. the scariest thing about CLOVERFIELD is that it made $46mil. ALSO>is it just me or did the statue of liberty head seem wat too SMALL. CRAP FILM.

    55. Lizzy Legs says – reply to this

      55

Probably not. I don't under how people were so disgusted with the first movie. Is wasn't nauseating whatsoever. Dumb, but not nauseating.

    56. ray says – reply to this

      56

no, the first piqued my interest enough to lure me in but fool me once shame on you fool me twice …. emmm whatever. Just ask george w. bush.

      57

oh no! i feel my motion sickness coming on… WTF??? It's not like shakey/handheld camera work hasn't been done OR seen before. Get a fucking grip. The film itself was a load of balls too… a mix of how many films exactly??? Hmmm…Blair Witch… Godzilla… Alien vs Predator… any other suggestions????!!!!!!

      60

some people in the theater i was in got sick- but my friends and i were fine- before it started the usher said sensitive people have been getting sick and yet they all stayed- so its their own fault really

    61. james says – reply to this

      61

OK, so just because it's not Brtiney or Hannah Montana is not in it, does not make it bad. The movie was experimental and better than the vomited up mess we are getting from Hollywood the past few years. A sequel will only explain more of the movie. Granted they shouldn't make one, but c'mon, better then WB actresses in Horror remakes.

      64

NO!!!!!!!!!!! the first movie was so amazing! you know it's going to ruin the whole thing if they make a sequel. i'd rather not know what happens because they're probably going to explain where the monster came from and it's just going to be all around cheese! leave the movie alone!

I HATED that film! All it did was steal ideas, images & story lines from Planet of the Apes, Alien, Independece Day, Blair Witch Project & Willard. Can they not come up with anything original? No, I will not go see the sequel!!

    77. Natalie says – reply to this

      77

Anyone who says they don't like this movie say that because they don't understand the creative/ innovative genius behind it. go to blockbuster and rent mean girls bc thats all you're brain capacity can handle. JJ Abrams is the MAN and everything he does turns to gold. CLOVERFIELD IS AWESOMEEEEEEEE!!!!! hell yeah I'd see 2,3,4,5,6…

    78. missjulie says – reply to this

      78

Hell yeah I would go see the sequel, ESPECIALLY if it was done in the same manner as the first. This is more than just a movie, its an EXPERIENCE. Some people won't get it or like it, and that is their right to their opinion. As for me, I loved it!!!

    79. Bren says – reply to this

      79

I watched it. It wasn't all that bad. Would have been better if they showed wtf the monster was, where it came from, etc. and give more detail into it.

    80. me says – reply to this

      80

Yes, I would see it. The Blair Witch project made me sick not Cloverfield.

    83. Rachel says – reply to this

      83

You all are crazy! Cloverfield was an amazing movie! I understand if some people are too weak to handle some camera movement, but I would go see another one — didn't bother me!

    84. Jen says – reply to this

      84

The same thing happened when Blair Witch came out years ago. (I would no… I worked at a movie theater back then and had mopping duty! Yuck!)

People should know what kind of film it is- and if they are prone to motion sickness, then they shouldn't go watch it- simple as that! It's not the theater's fault if you can't handle it.

I personally thought Cloverfield was great!

    85. alex says – reply to this

      85

NOOO! I JJ ABRAMS GETS A HORRIBLE, PAINFUL, DEADLY DESIES.

worst film maker ever - he will ruin star trek.

    86. yessi says – reply to this

      86

Did you actually watch the movie? It was very good. And the people who didn't like it are typically two types:
      a) the ones that need a cookie cutter plot in order to digest a film. I suggest these people go see 27 dresses or whatever the shit that movie is.
      b) those with a low tolerance for motion sickness. It's a ride.

    87. mary says – reply to this

      87

No way…we barely made it thru about 20 min….one of my friends actually threw up. This was camera work was just over the top…

    88. Mimi says – reply to this

      88

Psh, Perez is a hypocrite, most gossip bloggers are. I would see the
sequel and whoever got sick from the video motion is a douche. It wasn't even that shaky >>; If you want to complain maybe you should consider Blair Witch Project which was terrible plot wise and view.

    89. joey says – reply to this

      89

I saw it and it didn't make me sick, but I swear to God this guy in his early 20's PASSED OUT and hit the ground about half way through and he and his friends all left!

      93

uh yeah. and the people who got sick were stupid. they knew before they saw it that it was on a camera movie!

    94. Angelica says – reply to this

      94

I loved the movie but I agree I don't think they should make a sequel. You can't make another sequel to a movie like that. The whole hype was over what the monster was. Now that we do know, whats the purpose for seeing it for a second movie? I understand that "oh but it's still alive" but what else can they do to finish it? Have the government try and destroy it? I don't know, if J.J. Abrams was smart he would just leave it with the first and start another
      production on something else.

    98. Sierra says – reply to this

      98

I will defiantly go see it. I loved it first one, the camera wasn't that bad, but it was exciting and edge of your seat the whole time. I can't wait!

    99. katyg says – reply to this

      99

hell yea that movie was awesome, i didn tget nausous at all i found it to be really realistic adding a differant kinda of scary then normal stuff.

    100. Angelica says – reply to this

      100

and another thing, if you serious got nausous just watching the movie, you shouldn't be driving or even walking. It wasn't THAT bad. Plus weren't you like TWO weeks ago majorly supporting this movie? You had your whole perezhilton website themed with it.
