One Was Bad Enough!
Filed under: Film FlickersWith the success of Cloverfield's opening weekend, bringing in over $46 million, Paramount is planning to create a sequel to the film that made many people upset.
With all the complaints moviegoers had and refunds they requested (because the movie made them so sick), will the sequel make as much money?
Don't think we'd pay for another couple of hours of nausea!
Will U go watch it?

no way, first one was so lame.
i will fo sho!
HELL YEAH I WILL GO SEE NUMBER 2
FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
first
didn't you give it some publicity on your website a while ago?
YES YES YES YES YES OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YES!!!!!!
HELL YEAH I WILL GO SEE NUMBER 2
FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah, it was badass.
well genious, my guess is a sequel wouldnt be shot in that manner again.
YES! Incredible movie- so innovative and gripping! if you hate it so much why do you advertise it on your site? I'm sure whoever paid for that ad space wouldnt appreciate you knocking their film!
Cloverfield was awesome!!
First!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes i would
No.
The first movie was laughable. So bad.
Seventeenth!!!
hell yeah. #1
HELL YEAH I'LL BE THERE…cloverfield rocked
Absolutely NOT! I will NOT and will tell everyone I know NOT to watch the sequel. My friends asked me to go with them (Cloverfield), and I got so dizzy and sick that I had to leave after first 20 mins. My friends later told me that the story line and acting was just plain dumb (we live in New York City).
Anyway, this is like Blair Witch Project with all the hype, but not so impressive. Let's NOT help the studio, the producer, the director rich by going to the sequel.
i wil fo sho! i loved it!
I actually liked the movie alot…. If you go in there expecting a regular movie…It might piss you off that the camera is moving all around., BUT….I was told before I went to see it that it was filmed like a home movie. I thought it was great. It made you feel like you were right there with all the action. It was very raw, very different….I loved it!
It had potential but no i will not go see a sequel. I hated the ending and it gave me a headache. So many people walked out cause it was making them sick.
HAHA YOU GOT PAID TO HAVE THIS MOVIE ADVERTISED ON YOUR PAGE AND NOW YOU TRASH IT SAYING IT WAS BAD HAHAHA
YESS Bitches…. luv'd it!
Dumbest movie I've ever seen. It didn't make me sick but what a bunch of hype for a stupid movie.
A sequel? Of what, another hand held cam version of events? The first one was pathetic enough.
it's wasn't that bad . .come on - compared to what other movies are other there (Mad Money, NAtional Treasure, etc) . . it will do a'ight
Hell yeah I'd go see that!!! The writer Drew Goddard was a writer for the best TV show of all time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
No
First!!!!
yea, i would
Oh completely, it was an amazing movie, very different
heck yes i will!
didn't see the 1st
hey perez just because you didnt like it doesnt mean other people are pussies too.
first?
oh god, i'm one of THOSE people
Totally! I loved it.
Didn't mind it too much, so I guess I will see the sequel. Besides, I doubt they would do the sequel in the same style.
Cloverfield is connected to Heroes and Lost!
FIRST!
i thought the movie was great. but it was a bit sickening. i would definitely go see another one. although the first one scared me extremely…
first yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Yes I would and Mr. david vg it would in fact be shot in the same style as the second is supposedly other's experiences.
For example on the bridge scene you can visibly see another person taping the events
yea i totally would. i got what they were trying to do and it was great, considering how they had to approach it. besides, i don't know why everyone is complaining of motion sickness. I get car sick in two minutes if I'm not driving and this movie didn't do anything to me.
Ugh, Perez you're a fucking stupid bitch!!!! People are so fucking stupid, this movie was amazing! People just wanted to sit there and be told when to jump and scream, like little sheep. They should have watched One Missed Call instead, that movie had everything that brianless people would ever need.
hell yeah!…the first one didnt make me sick at all…my two friends werent so lucky…
such a ridiculous film. awful truly awful. why were people upset and sick?? absolute SHITE. it's a totla waste of time and money to make a sequel… money that could be spent on waaaaaaay more important things.
No!
YES, i definitely will. There's so much more to the story than you get if you're just casually watching the movie. JJ Abrams has set up myspace profiles for all of the main characters and websites for the company that Rob was moving to Japan to work for. Also, there are some tie-ins to LOST and Alias. Google Cloverfield and it gets a lot more interesting. Also, pay attention to the last seen when something falls from the sky into the ocean in the far right corner of the screen. Wow, I sound like a nerd but this ish is so good, yo.
Absolutely not. The script/treck through the city to find that idiot girl was more nauseating than the camera crap. Gross.
yess i loved the moviee
hm
oh god no! This movie gave me a headache and then i felt like throwing up during the whole thing. I felt like i was on a bad acid trip…
Of course I'd see it. Why are people complaining about the first one? They said if you're motion sick don't see it. That's their own fault if they saw it knowing that. And people complaining about not having an ending, I loved it. It's different from most movies. Why does everyone need closure to enjoy something? Its about finding a video tape, not an actual movie.
no.
It was just a bad movie.
Simple as that.
LOL! I thought I was the only one that felt sick during the movie!! I blamed the pizza I shoved before going to the movies. I did throw up, had to left the theater 2 times and then came back to finish the movie.
Absolutely not! Forget making me sick … the whole thing was just crap and left everyone completely confused.
no fucking way. the scariest thing about CLOVERFIELD is that it made $46mil. ALSO>is it just me or did the statue of liberty head seem wat too SMALL. CRAP FILM.
Probably not. I don't under how people were so disgusted with the first movie. Is wasn't nauseating whatsoever. Dumb, but not nauseating.
no, the first piqued my interest enough to lure me in but fool me once shame on you fool me twice …. emmm whatever. Just ask george w. bush.
oh no! i feel my motion sickness coming on… WTF??? It's not like shakey/handheld camera work hasn't been done OR seen before. Get a fucking grip. The film itself was a load of balls too… a mix of how many films exactly??? Hmmm…Blair Witch… Godzilla… Alien vs Predator… any other suggestions????!!!!!!
I will go see it! Not everyone is a big pussy!!
I will - it didn't make me sick at all… it was an entertaining movie.
some people in the theater i was in got sick- but my friends and i were fine- before it started the usher said sensitive people have been getting sick and yet they all stayed- so its their own fault really
OK, so just because it's not Brtiney or Hannah Montana is not in it, does not make it bad. The movie was experimental and better than the vomited up mess we are getting from Hollywood the past few years. A sequel will only explain more of the movie. Granted they shouldn't make one, but c'mon, better then WB actresses in Horror remakes.
YES!!!
i personally loved cloverfield it was very good! didnt make me sick or anything. but honestly if u have motion sickness it should have been a givin that u would get sick. so yeah i would go see the sequal. it was very intense loves it!!!
NO!!!!!!!!!!! the first movie was so amazing! you know it's going to ruin the whole thing if they make a sequel. i'd rather not know what happens because they're probably going to explain where the monster came from and it's just going to be all around cheese! leave the movie alone!
Fuck yes.
Omg.. Just writing this is making me sick..no sequel plese..or film it like a regular film..
fuck yeah i will. this movie was killer.
i'm so pumped!!!
damn strait Id go see the next one that scene near the end where the monster picks the guy up and and puts him in his mouth that was pricless
damn this movie so sucked please no more JJ Abrams should be strung up for promoting this movie to look good but suck with a capital S.U.C.K on another note Rambo was aaaaawwwwwssssooommmme with a great ending to take you back to the oiginal. please no more clovfield I'm now worried about the new star trek even though I'm not a big fan.
Re: Fabulous New Yorker –
Move back to Ohio.
OMG! I am glad that Im not the only one who got sick! I had to lay down during the whole movie & close my eyes!
Hey, you just have to remember to take your dramamine beforehand!
Guess the idiot studio execs didn't realize this is another Blair Witch project
Go ahead losers. Waste money on a sequel!
FUCK YEA!!!
I HATED that film! All it did was steal ideas, images & story lines from Planet of the Apes, Alien, Independece Day, Blair Witch Project & Willard. Can they not come up with anything original? No, I will not go see the sequel!!
I will pay to see Cloverfield movies til the end of time.
The first one was AMAZING!
one of the worst movies i have ever seen in my entire life! the storyline was written for elementary school kids. total joke of a film. total gimmick and i can't believe i fell for it! i was sick for 7 hours!
Anyone who says they don't like this movie say that because they don't understand the creative/ innovative genius behind it. go to blockbuster and rent mean girls bc thats all you're brain capacity can handle. JJ Abrams is the MAN and everything he does turns to gold. CLOVERFIELD IS AWESOMEEEEEEEE!!!!! hell yeah I'd see 2,3,4,5,6…
Hell yeah I would go see the sequel, ESPECIALLY if it was done in the same manner as the first. This is more than just a movie, its an EXPERIENCE. Some people won't get it or like it, and that is their right to their opinion. As for me, I loved it!!!
I watched it. It wasn't all that bad. Would have been better if they showed wtf the monster was, where it came from, etc. and give more detail into it.
Yes, I would see it. The Blair Witch project made me sick not Cloverfield.
Hell TO THE nooooooo!!!!!!!!!
I demanded a refund.And got it
never. it was a dumb idea to film it the way they did. nausea is not trendy.
You all are crazy! Cloverfield was an amazing movie! I understand if some people are too weak to handle some camera movement, but I would go see another one — didn't bother me!
The same thing happened when Blair Witch came out years ago. (I would no… I worked at a movie theater back then and had mopping duty! Yuck!)
People should know what kind of film it is- and if they are prone to motion sickness, then they shouldn't go watch it- simple as that! It's not the theater's fault if you can't handle it.
I personally thought Cloverfield was great!
NOOO! I JJ ABRAMS GETS A HORRIBLE, PAINFUL, DEADLY DESIES.
worst film maker ever - he will ruin star trek.
Did you actually watch the movie? It was very good. And the people who didn't like it are typically two types:
a) the ones that need a cookie cutter plot in order to digest a film. I suggest these people go see 27 dresses or whatever the shit that movie is.
b) those with a low tolerance for motion sickness. It's a ride.
No way…we barely made it thru about 20 min….one of my friends actually threw up. This was camera work was just over the top…
Psh, Perez is a hypocrite, most gossip bloggers are. I would see the
sequel and whoever got sick from the video motion is a douche. It wasn't even that shaky >>; If you want to complain maybe you should consider Blair Witch Project which was terrible plot wise and view.
I saw it and it didn't make me sick, but I swear to God this guy in his early 20's PASSED OUT and hit the ground about half way through and he and his friends all left!
Hell yeah bitches!
i dont even want to see the first one.
HELL NO!!! it was all i could do not to puke on my way out of the theatre… i love me some j.j. but DAYUM!
uh yeah. and the people who got sick were stupid. they knew before they saw it that it was on a camera movie!
I loved the movie but I agree I don't think they should make a sequel. You can't make another sequel to a movie like that. The whole hype was over what the monster was. Now that we do know, whats the purpose for seeing it for a second movie? I understand that "oh but it's still alive" but what else can they do to finish it? Have the government try and destroy it? I don't know, if J.J. Abrams was smart he would just leave it with the first and start another
production on something else.
OF COURSE I WILL! The first was one was soo fucking amazing!!!!
U americans are just too sensitive!
It´s a MOVIE!
what complaints?? what was there to complain about?? i thought the movie was awesome and am super psyched that they're planning a sequel!! did people complain about blair witch? that i could understand since it did make me a bit nauceous but other than it using a hand-held camera (or at least using that technique) cloverfield wasn't the same as that one at all!
I will defiantly go see it. I loved it first one, the camera wasn't that bad, but it was exciting and edge of your seat the whole time. I can't wait!
hell yea that movie was awesome, i didn tget nausous at all i found it to be really realistic adding a differant kinda of scary then normal stuff.
and another thing, if you serious got nausous just watching the movie, you shouldn't be driving or even walking. It wasn't THAT bad. Plus weren't you like TWO weeks ago majorly supporting this movie? You had your whole perezhilton website themed with it.
