She got a taste of the solo spotlight again recently, and she realized how much she missed it!
Paula Abdul is not content to just release a song on American Idol judge Randy Jackson's upcoming compilation.
She wants more!
The Straight Up singer, who hasn't released an album in over a ten years, has announced on her official website that she's working on a new CD.
"New Paula Abdul album coming summer 2008," the site promises.
If she does it right, it has the potential to not suck.
We're looking forward to it!

Paula is nuts. This song that she's releasing on Randy's album is hardly a comeback. Randy does all the work along with a computer to make her voice listenable and she thinks she can do a whole album like that. Dream on, bitch. Your career is over. You had your chance and you had two albums that sold well and then you tanked. Step aside and let someone younger, stronger, who can sing, and whose not old enough to be a grandma have a chance at the pop scene.

Paula has always been fun to listen to, it will be interesting to hear what she has to offer. She's pretty professional and all her records have been well produced and crafted. I don't see any obstacle for her to have another succesful album period.

It's really funny seeing so many people say that she DOESN'T sing live when she went on tour several times all over the world. If you want to hear her singing live without any lip-synching then go on youtube and search for "Paula Abdul Rush Rush Live" and you will see a really nice performance by her. She's no Whitney or Celine, but she gotz pipes, and people really need to simply start being nice for the sake of nice rather then mean for the sake of mean. It's much more fun! :.)

Paula Abdul is really one of the best dancers ever. She clearly knows how to entertain and even though she sounds like a chipmunk when she sings, her voice goes good with the kind of music she does sing. I love Paula, but you do realize that there is a software out that a lot of musicians use that "auto tunes" your voice as you sing, and allows you to sing in perfect pitch. Paula was accused of using this when she first started her singing career, along with overdubbing her tracks. This is why Paula's small octave and a half range voice sounds so good. She's even admitted that she's not that great of a singer, but she was marketable.
I think a comeback album by Paula would be cool.
