Britney's stay at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward is going to be extended.

Spears, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, will be staying in the hospital for another 14 days.

And hopefully she will receive some kind of outpatient treatment after that!

Figured she's bipolar but I still don't see it ending well for her. She didn't see herself as bipolar or as someone needing help so she is there only by the effort of her parents and probably a few others. Once she is discharged do you think she'll take her meds, go for therapy etc? Don't count on it. She might do it for a little bit, just in keeping with the situation but that's the difference between someone who believes they have a problem and want to be fixed, and someone who thinks all is great and had to be almost forced to go to the hospital.

Finally she gets the help she needs!!!! I'm so glad that hospital realized it….and wont let her out. I was already guessing that she would get out after the 72 hours were complete!!!! When I lived in Weho, I had some crazy bitch that lived below me. Twice she was taken away strapped to a gurney, 5150, the second time was cuz she went off her bi-polar meds,two weeks prior was a hell of a E-ticket ride. That is some strong shit, when they get her ass on it, and someone is there to make sure she stays on it, the fun is over, as is her career, she will become a subdued zombie, which in comparison to the last three weeks, probably a good thing. Just my two cents.

I am glad finally that Britney is getting help. No one should be laughing anymore. I was diagnosed with Bipolar at the early stage so I can relate to some of the symptoms she face. Luckily, I got help right away and I am doing great. I am on medication and I wish her all the best. Thank goodness her parents stpped in. It was time.

who knows if she's bipolar or what. nobody from the outside, including dr. phil, could diagnose something like that without really knowing what's going on inside britney. she may have some sort of mental illness like bipolar disorder, or she may just be fed up with everyone and be going through some sort of a rebellion stage. i really think if she had REAL friends, and a real family that was there for her and truly cared about her, she wouldn't be having the majority her issues. the girl can't trust anybody, everybody is out to use her and it's been this way for the past 10 years, if that alone were to change she would get better. prescribing her medication for her depression/bipolar problem only creates more issues. once you're on those drugs you're never the same again.
