Jessica "Don't Call Me Latina" Alba has another dud on her hands!
The actress, who can't open a film, may have happy baby news but she won't be thrilled to learn that her new film, The Eye, has failed at the box office.
Despite major promotion from Alba, her movie is projected to only take in $12-15 million this weekend on 2436 screens in the U.S.
By comparison the new Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana 3D concert film is expected to take in a WHOPPING $25-30 million for Friday - Sunday. AND, that movie was only released on 683 screens in theaters across the country!
The Hannah Montana movie has set a new record for biggest opening of a concert film and a 3D movie.
Poor Jessica!
She should take a nice LONG maternity break!

Gee, you forgot to mention that Eva "Call Her a Golddigger" Parker's movie didn't even debut in the top 10 this weekend. Her movie made less than half of what Alba's did. Looks like Eva will join her friend, Jessica Simpson. At least Alba can she she's had a few hits.

Sometimes the scipt does not make the actress but in all honesty a good script could not save this poor girl. I've seen some of her movies Idle Hands, Honey, Into The Blue and they have all sucked. She has a decent body and a decent face - nothing to rave about - so I have no idea why she has an agent. Casting Couch maybe?

The movie FUCKING STINKS!!! We snuck in for about 45 minutes- it was so fucking stupid and boring. ANd she is just the fucking worst. A laughable performance. The "monster" is some shitty ghost of a depressed latina who hung herself in a fucking tortilla factory (and donated her eyes to Jessica Alba) and wants to save a little white girl from burning to death in Tijuana. I'm not kidding– that is how stupid this piece of shit is. The only part (that had the 8 people in the audience all laughing) was when blind Jessica grabs a fucking pipe to try to beat the suicide lady (who just hung herself in the closet). i REALLY don't think you can rightfully compare alba and hannah montana. i mean, first of all, children are a very loyal audience and there was no doubt that a hannah montana movie would do gangbusters at the box office. its a franchise and when children go to movies, so do their parents. she's sold millions of records and various merchandising endeavors. jessica alba isn't a very good actress, but she's not the reason to blame for the eye not doing well. people are sick to death of japanese remakes (the grudge 2, anyone?)…

One would have to know the cost of production to declare The Eye a bomb for taking in $12M-$15M on opening weekend. Also, I can vaguely understand the # of theater comparisons, but that's somewhat unfair as well because the Hannah Montana movie is only in theaters for a week, so parents and kids know that the only option is to see it immediately, whereas one could catch The Eye in a movie theater at a convenient time during the next few weeks.

I do not care for Alba. She seems like she is kind of hateful and thinks she is just a little above everyone. When Good Luck Chuck didn't do so hot, she was quick to criticize it. She is a terrible actress.
As for Hannah Montana/My name is not even Miley…she is so masculine and cannot even really carry a tune. I think she is tone deaf. It seems that the kids are not as gung-ho as it is their parents. A friend of mine took her daughter to the show and I think the child would have been just as content if we popped in the cd. Her mom said she did not even pay attention, but her the mother sang along and danced to every song. It seems to me that it is the mothers who are living vicariously through their little teeny boppers.
Sorry Perry, it is on its way to beat the expectations as it took in 5 million on its first day alone. Brew on that.

First of, Hannah Montana tix cost $15 which in comparison are a $6 difference to most ticket prices not to mention dont change on matinee basis.
Second the audiences are two completely different things. You cannot compare the Disney Channel audience which is indulged by overspending parents and such. And the japanese horrow audience is tired out and almost expecting a dissapointment.
Third, the film opened to very decent numbers. More than you can say to other recent horrow dissapointments.
So shut the hell up and get back to your gossip.
Which as we have seen by now (acting, rapping, tv host) is the ONLY thing you are good at.
