Accidental Overdose

The toxicology results are in, and the NY Medical Examiner's Office ruled Heath Ledger's death an accident based on using and abusing too many prescription medications.

The actor died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.

The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is another name for Vicodin, a painkiller.

And, finally, we have resolution.

Wow….oxycodone "oxy-cottin" "roxies"…that is what Heroin addicts take when they cant score…its a time released pain medication that is very easy to overdose on. It is also very bad to mix with other drugs or alcohol. Since both my parents were struggling heroin addicts, my prayers go out to Michelle and Matilda. Heroin addiction is such a terrible thing….

Accidental? You are a jerk Perez, an enabler…in the creation of this headline. The idiot actor died from a "drug overdose" by being "stupid and ignorant" nothing more. Just because he had scripts, does this mean he has no responsibilities to read the labels and follow doctor's orders?

I hate to hear that. I was a big fan of his work, and I looked forward to seeing his portrayal as the Joker in the new Batman Movie.

This is what really happened……

The New York City medical examiner's office has ruled that actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

A spokewoman for the medical examiner said the drugs included painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.

Ledger, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "Brokeback Mountain," died in his New York City apartment Jan. 22.

He was 28.

Ledger's parents and other close relatives have been gathering in their hometown of Perth, Australia, this week after spending nearly two weeks in the U.S. immediately following his death.

They are reportedly planning a private service in Perth and will either bury Ledger's body or inter his cremated remains in the city.

Re: Klee – Hey, "Fuckwit" - you can take more pills than recommended with the intent of them having a stronger effect and without intending to kill yourself, but taking them other than prescribed is considered abusing them. Prescription meds come with directions so situations like this don't occur. So, chew on that. Very sorry for the family.
