Hillary Remains The Frontrunner

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton > John McCain

wennbarackhill.jpg

While it was an easy win for John McCain in the Republican presidential primaries, the Democratic race was neck and neck.

However, Hillary Clinton took home more delegates on Super Tuesday and she goes in to the upcoming primaries with the advantage.

Should be an interesting and heated race to the finish!

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hilary is MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN JOHN MCCAIN!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention that fact that she is more of the SAME. If you are happy wth the state of this country today, stick with her, but if you are a reasonable person WAKE UP! BARACK OBAMA IS THE ANSWER. Perez talks about her passion for equality-are you kidding me? She's a politician. CHOOSE OBAMA. CHOOSE HOPE. CHOOSE CHANGE. CHOOSE OBAMA.

I think it is wrong to say that hillary is the frontrunner when ALL THE VOTES HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN COUNTED YET. The real winner is far from being picked, and Obama has the majority of the states. It's not over till it's over and this kind of posting is exactly why none of us can trust the media. Even if it is just a trashy celebrity site.

We need more. Barack Obama for President.

Perez, uhhh, you clearly haven't seen the delegate totals. In the traditional sense of the term, Hillary is hardly a "frontrunner." Tonight's results show a real surge in Obama support and he will take a substantial portion of California's delegates away from her. He also will end the night with more states won than her and more votes nationwide.

THERE IS NO FRONTRUNNER ON EITHER SIDE!

    46

Perez, I love you, but what have you been watching? The momentum is COMPLETELY with Barack and the Republican story is not McCain, but Huckabee winning a whole slew of states and basically kicking Romney out of the race. I am getting really tired of watching you pimp Hillary Clinton. and I don't understand why you like her over Barack. Please explain why or I won't look at your page anymore. :-(

You're wrong. Obama has won more states. Obama has won more pledged delegates. You have to learn the difference between pledged and super delegates Perez. from dailykos.com

"Obama has, at this point, won 11 states, of 22 in play. Worst-case scenario, he's already won half. If he picks up Alaska, which I suspect he will, he wins the battle of the states.

California is looking like it might head SUSA's way, so that'll be good news for Hillary. But the rest of the night is bleak. She didn't exceed expectations anywhere. She lost states she led big in just a few weeks ago. She's hurting for money. The calendar up ahead is tailor made for Obama. The momentum is there.

And hey, look at that — Obama just took the lead in Missouri. The rest of the counties are Hillary counties, so this might still swing back her way. But wow, did the morons who called this one early at MSNBC and Politico blew this one.

Update: Never mind, Boone is out, it's a college town, and Obama leads 61-36 with only a quarter in. Obama wins Missouri."

Super Tuesday isn't over. Obama's won more states (even if Hillary wins in Cali, it's still 13-9) and Hillary's only leading in delegates because people are jumping the gun and counting the superdelegates, who will all change their mind eight times before the convention anyway.

    OBAMA '08!

Perez, I am a Latino voter from Wisconsin and I am so proud to say that Latino voters in California and throughout the country are FINALLY BEING HEARD! We have been marginalized and underrepresented for too long! Hillary Clinton is not just going to be the first female president, but the first president to make Latinos a priority!

VOTE HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT IN 08!!!!

  68. Taryn says – reply to this
    68

We don't know what the delegates counts are for a state until all the votes in that state are counted. Democrats award delegates on a proportional basis. Until the votes are completely tallied, we won't know the proportion of the votes won by either Clinton or Obama.

So, we in fact, do not know how many delegates either candidate has Perez.

  69. krysten says – reply to this
    69

how about you get all your facts straight perez! The night isnt over yet, and the delegate division is not that different. While clinton currently has a small majority over obama, they still have to look at each state and see how many delegates each candidate deserves due to how many votes they got. This is important because in a state like california with over 400 delegates we have to wait and see how much clinton won by. Therefore, in the end the seperation of delegates may not be that different. Furthermore, obama is going to go on to win 13 or 14 states so he is in a better positon to raise more money for the campaign whereas clinton is gonna struggle to raise enough to keep up with him! So, my point is that to call clinton a front runner is pre-mature and bias since that is who you are backing!
