Vanity Fair Cancels Their Oscar Party!

The Academy Awards will go on - whether there is a resolution to the actors strike or not, with actors or not - but even if the show proceeds and there is no picketing, Vanity Fair has still decided to cancel their annual Oscar party (the biggest in town) to stand in solidarity with the striking writers, the magazine announced on Tuesday.

After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party. We want to congratulate all of this year’s nominees and we look forward to hosting our 15th Oscar party next year.

Those motherfuckers. I am having a big Oscar bash at my house this year and, if the show gets cancelled and/or no actors show up, I am going to be pissed! Why can't these goddamned studios give the writers what they want and deserve? I'm tired of this shit!

this crap has to start. I don't care about the party, but alot of people are out of work and I am not talking about the writers. People who don't get residuals-the 'little' people who, without them, no show would go on - assistants, makeup people, stagecrews, and then you have food people, sales people (no show -no need to shop). And rarely, RARELY do you see anything about them. Once I saw the daughter of a show's nurse protesting the strikers because her mother was now unemployed.

This is priceless … the actors will show up to the Oscars … what about their support for the writers? When it suits them, they support them; when not, they turn their backs. How about taking some of the actors' salaries and give to the writers.
X17 is reporting that Nicole is environmentally conscious while showing her carrying several bags of disposable diapers out of Whole Foods. She fell for the tagline, "chlorine-free". I wonder if Nicole realizes the loadings of chlorine put on Earth by swimming pools alone. She should also consider the solid waste loadings… I guarantee that solid waste loadings are very much more destructive to the environment than chlorine bleachings (which are a regulated industrial process and have record-keeping and hazardous chemical disposal requirements). Don't take my word for it, look at google earth for swimming pool densities. And educate yourself on your so-called causes so the real people fighting the daily battles in the cause atleast have a modicum of respect for you. For being an uppity know-it-all (as evidenced on Simple Life) you sure are ignorant.
Vanit Fair should now take the hundreds-of-thousands of dollars it takes to put on this "who gives a shit" party and donate the money to Brad Pitt's efforts in New Orleans or George Clooney's efforts in Africa–but they won't. Their magazine use to be a good read until their horny "old" editor started putting Paris and other no talent girls on their cover.
