Britney Can't Hire New Lawyer!!!

Brit Brit met up with lawyer Adam Streisand yesterday, presumably to try and fight the conservatorship established by the court which gives her dad and an independent attorney control of her life.
Unfortunately, Spears can't legally hire the new lawyer, the courts have decided.
A publicist for Streisand has just give PerezHilton.com the following statement, explaining what has happened:
"At the request of Britney Spears, Adam Streisand, a Partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP, met with her yesterday to discuss her legal rights in connection with the conservatorship over her person and estate. Following that meeting, Mr. Streisand learned that the court had issued orders that prevent Ms. Spears from retaining counsel of her own choosing, and on that basis, Mr. Streisand has decided he will not represent her at this time."

As much as Britney may not view this as a good thing in the end when hopefully she is in a healthier state of mind she will be thankful for not being in charge of her own fate at this time. She really needs people who truly care about her well being to be the ones to call the shots. Yeah I know it's difficult to have someone committed against their will blah blah blah and you can't hold someone in the hospital on the psych floor if they're not a danger to themselves or others blah blah blah. But I hope all these doctors still feel that they've made the right decision when this woman is dead. She clearly cannot function on her own and she IS a threat to herself and others. I feel so sorry for her poor dad, running all over L.A. trying to contain her and bring her back home.
Presumably that is just until the conservatorship ends. Brit better be good or it'll get extended past Feb 14th!!!

Unfortunately, she can sign herself out after 72 hours. I have a friend who signed himself out of Intensive Care against doctor's wishes. He walked out of the hospital in the middle of medical detox. Needless to say, he was found dead 3 months later in a transient hotel.
