Writers Strike 99% Over!

A deal has been reached, CNBC is reporting.

The new deal will now go before the entire Writers Guild members on Saturday for approval, but that is pretty much a given at this point.

Yay!

Everyone should be getting back to work soon and the Oscars will go on as planned.

as a WGA member, i can assure you that this is not the case. we have not even SEEN a deal yet. we will see it on saturday, but then it will take time for us to digest it and think about it. there are ALOT of numbers and formulas and percentages and fine print to sort out. to say that it is 99% over is stupid. and there will be no vote on saturday. that's not how it works. sorry.

I'm not a writer, I'm just in college, but if they are writing they should be getting royalties on all productions of their work, comprehensively updated with technology. The fact that this wasn't automatically done is something I find disturbing.

If the people writing here saying that they are real writers actually ARE, then Perez, you need to check your shit, because you don't want to damage your "credibility," if you can call it that.
