Writers Strike 99% Over!

A deal has been reached, CNBC is reporting.

The new deal will now go before the entire Writers Guild members on Saturday for approval, but that is pretty much a given at this point.

Yay!

Everyone should be getting back to work soon and the Oscars will go on as planned.

I want the strike to end as much as anyone, however signing contracts during a mercury retrograde generally results in deception and disappointment. Writer's must read the fine print before agreeing to anything else they'll get screwed again.

Not even close to being true, that passage of the deal is a given. We don't know what the AMPTP has offered yet, and until we do, and membership approves, there is nothing to celebrate. Rumors of this being a slam dunk are only out there to put pressure on the WGA to approve.

There are waaaaay more important things to worry about instead of this lame writers strike. Perez, why dont you mention Darfur, Malawi or the fact that hundreds of Iraqis are dying for no reason everyday? The writers strike is small fries compared to whats really important. Dont be such a Hollywood kiss ass!

      Re: Choonty
The writers strike is very important to the writers, they have kids to feed too and can't do it while not working.
